DO NOT use All-Purpose or Multi-Purpose cleaners, detergents, abrasive cleaners or “mop and shine” type products (such as Bleach, Pine-Sol, Clorox Soft Scrub, Fabuloso, Rejuvenate, Mop & Glo, Mr. Clean, Murphy's Oil Soap and similar, unapproved cleaners), as they will dull the finish and sheen of the flooring material.

Generally speaking, most luxury vinyl planks can be cleaned using soap and water and don't require a special LVP cleaner. A dishwashing soap like Dawn is the best way to clean vinyl plank flooring because it will cut grime and grease without stripping your floors or damaging the wear layer.

Or any other delicate surface, for that matter, like silverware, glass, or metal surfaces. Dry erasers have the abrasiveness of a 3000 grit sandpaper – very fine, but can still mar shiny surfaces – like your stainless steel appliances!
Method: For more persistent ink stains, use a Magic Eraser sponge to gently scrub the area. Dampen the sponge with water and apply gentle pressure. Why It Works: The melamine foam in Magic Erasers can effectively lift ink stains from vinyl surfaces.
The Magic eraser can be used repeatedly but will wear slowly with each use. It may leave behind a residue as it reacts to the surface being cleaned but this is easily cleaned away with water.
Mix baking soda with water to create a paste until it forms a thick consistency. Apply the paste to the scratched area and gently rub it with a soft cloth. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before wiping it away and rinsing the floor with clean water.

Disinfecting Wipes including Clorox, Green Works, PDI Sani-Cloth HB Wipes, Lysol, Oxivir, Virox, and CaviWipes. Note: Disinfecting wipes that contain bleach are acceptable on vinyl. 7.5 to 9 is the recommended pH for bleach.
While vinegar is a common ingredient in many homemade floor cleaners, it shouldn't be used on certain household surfaces because it can cause damage. Fortunately, luxury vinyl flooring isn't one of those surfaces. In fact, apple cider vinegar makes an excellent vinyl floor cleaner.
One of the most common issues with LVP floors is residue left by improper cleaning products. Soap-based and oil-based cleaners, while often effective on other surfaces, can leave a sticky film on LVP flooring. This residue dulls the finish and attracts more dirt, making the floor look dirty.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, such as steel wool or scouring powder, as these may scratch your floor. Do not use cleaning products that contain surfactants. Dish lotions, laundry detergents, Murphy Oil Soap cleaners should not be used to maintain your flooring.
Mild cleaners like a distilled vinegar solution are more appropriate for luxury vinyl flooring. A mixture of warm water and white distilled vinegar goes in the bucket. The ideal ratio is one cup of vinegar per gallon of water.
Avoid using bleach or ammonia-based products. Stick to manufacturer-approved cleaners. Do not soak floors with excessive water.
Why should you avoid vinyl flooring? Cheap Vinyl flooring can release toxic chemicals, is prone to scratching and denting, and may not add much resale value to your home.
Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner is a suitable option for vinyl floors, but it should be used sparingly with water.
How Often to Clean Vinyl Plank Flooring. Like the other floors in your home, you should plan to remove crumbs, dust, and debris from your floors at least once a week.
