The best disinfectants for viruses are HOCL, alcohol, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and quaternary ammonium compounds. These active ingredients are the most common on the EPA's list of registered disinfectants against the coronavirus.
The absence of all germs is referred to as sterilization and is a process that surpasses the efficacy level achieved with any disinfectant solution. EPA-registered chemical sterilants are the only types of sanitation products that can make a claim to kill all pathogens on hard surfaces.
TIL 70% Ethanol (alcohol) is a more effective disinfectant because pure alcohol on a single celled organism triggers coagulation (clot) preventing it from penetrating deeper into the cell wall rendering it dormant but still alive. The water in 70% ethanol allows it to penetrate before it can clot.
While the relative effectiveness of alcohol and bleach on bacteria and viruses does not vary greatly, it is important not to mix the two agents during cleaning.
Ethanol is bad for cold-starting, because it doesn't burn as quickly as gasoline. (It has a higher octane, if you're interested.) Pure ethanol would be useless as fuel in the winter months. There are no passenger cars designed to take E100 (but some racing cars are) so it could damage your car engine.

Hydrogen Peroxide
If hydrogen peroxide can be used to disinfect cuts, it can be used to disinfect your home! For the best results, it's best to use a solution between 3-6%. It can kill bacteria, fungus, mold, and mildew and be used on any virtually any surface like: Bathtubs.

Vinegar has been proven to have some disinfectant properties, however it's not nearly as effective at killing harmful viruses and bacteria as commercial cleaners. And because it does not kill 99.999 percent of bacteria and viruses, it doesn't meet the criteria required to be considered a disinfectant.
Patients with a diagnosed C. diff infection should not share a room with someone who does not have the infection. If you do share a room and your roommate contracts C. diff, ask to be moved.
Green Poop
Some people with C. diff notice that their poop takes on a greenish tinge. A number of factors, including IBD and other bacteria, can also cause green poop, so that alone doesn't necessarily signal C. diff.
But the antibiotics that most often lead to C. difficile infection include: Clindamycin. Cephalosporins. Penicillins.
Glutaraldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, ortho-phthalaldehyde, and peracetic acid with hydrogen peroxide are cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are dependable high-level disinfectants provided the factors influencing germicidal procedures are met (Table 1).
Acid cleaners are the most powerful type of cleaning agent and should be used with care. If they are not diluted correctly, acid cleaners can be very poisonous and corrosive. Acid cleaners are generally used to remove mineral deposits and are useful for descaling dishwashers or removing rust from restroom facilities.
Alternatives to bleach that are registered with the EPA are general- ly grouped as: quaternary ammonium compounds (“quats”), iodine based sanitizers, acid anionic sanitizers (peracetic acid), and hydrogen peroxide sanitizers.
Ethanol is an effective disinfectant at concentrations between 70% and 90%. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, 70% ethanol seems to be the most effective concentration, as 90% ethanol coagulates the protein, and the protein layer that is created effectively renders the cell dormant.
Most cars on the road today in the U.S. can run on blends of up to 15% ethanol, and ethanol represented 10% of the U.S. gasoline fuel supply derived from domestic sources in 2011. Some flexible-fuel vehicles are able to use up to 100% ethanol.
Our ability to metabolise alcohol was developed millions of years ago by some mammalian ancestors in order to deal with ethanol and with much lower amounts of methanol present naturally in food (basically in ripe fruit) or produced by bacteria in our digestive tract.
