You may notice your normal detergent is not as effective if you mix with Lysol Laundry Disinfectant. These products are not meant to be used together so we do not recommend it. There are no safety concerns, but you will not have the best usage experience for both products.
If you add it with detergent or softener, it will neutralize the sanitizer. It is designed to be used on clothes that are already cleaned. So, it needs to go into the final rinse.
A sanitiser is a combination of a detergent and a disinfectant.
No it's not. They are different compounds and designed to work differently. Mixing them may alter their properties. Use detergent first (if for skin washing) and then sanitiser.
Sanitizers reduce pathogens to safe numbers, while detergents remove dirt, grime, grease, and food particles. You don't need to sanitize non-food contact surfaces like floors and walls — just regularly clean.
Laundry sanitizer is primarily used to disinfect clothes and linens while using eco-friendly laundry detergent to clean them. It kills bacteria, fungi and certain viruses that may be present on fabrics such as those in hospital settings or used by healthcare professionals.
Do not mix laundry detergent with household cleaners or ammonia. The mixture could release dangerous fumes and result in breathing problems.
Adding vinegar directly to the wash with your laundry detergent may compromise its cleaning performance. Laundry detergents are formulated for specific pH levels, which may be disrupted by the acidity of vinegar, leading to less effective cleaning. It's best to avoid mixing them to ensure optimal results.
Pour the recommended amount of Lysol Laundry Sanitizer into the designated compartment in your washing machine, or directly into the drum if your machine doesn't have a specific compartment.
Detergents like soap remove the grime, grease, food, dust and stains. They do not kill bacteria. This is why, after cleaning, you must sanitise the food preparation surfaces and equipment. Clean as you go as it will save you time and effort in keeping food preparation areas and premises clean.
A: Laundry Sanitizer is added into the fabric softener compartment so that it is dispensed during the rinse cycle. If there is no compartment in the machine, it is recommended to add liquid at the beginning of the rinse cycle. Thank you for your feedback!
White Vinegar
To use vinegar to disinfect your laundry, try adding 1 cup to the rinse cycle. Not only can it kill germs and bacteria, but it's also a great natural deodorizer. White vinegar can be used on colors and whites, keeping clothes bright, and works as an effective fabric softener, too.
In all cases, rinse your eyes with water for several minutes and call a doctor if irritation occurs after this point. Can Laundry Cleanser be used in conjunction with fabric softener? Laundry Cleanser should be used instead of fabric softener; place it in the compartment normally reserved for the latter.
Never mix household bleach (or any disinfectants) with any other cleaners or disinfectants. This can release vapors that may be very dangerous to breathe in. Make sure you have good ventilation while using bleach products indoors (for example, open windows and doors to allow fresh air to enter).
Hazardous Reactions
Excessive heat, fire or explosion possible. Can provide an ignition source for combustible materials. Concentrated Sulfuric Acid, a strong acid, should not be mixed with Concentrated Sodium Hydroxide, a strong base. Excessive heat and liquid explosion.
If the chlorine release was from household cleaners or chemicals, open windows and doors to let in fresh air. Leave the area until the gas has gone away. If you cannot get away, go to the highest ground possible because chlorine is heavier than air and will sink.

Powerful cleaning agents that can be included in powdered detergent formulas, but not liquid forms, work to help remove mud, grass or clay stains. Liquid detergent is best used for grease or oil stains on your day to day items, because of its ability to help release and break down stains in fabrics.
Fragrances: Many laundry detergents contain fragrances to make clothes smell fresh and clean. However, these fragrances may contain chemicals that can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. Bleach: Chlorine bleach is a common ingredient in laundry detergents, and it can be harmful if ingested or inhaled.
Use hot water (60 C) and your regular detergent for infected laundry. Lower temperatures will not kill the fungus and can transfer spores to other fabrics in the same load. For white cotton socks, you can use chlorine bleach along with the hot water to disinfect the fabric.
