What is Flemish Glass? Flemish glass has the look of hand blown glass without the seeds and bubbles – or the expense! It slightly distorts the view through it so it allows light to shine through and brighten up your rooms while also giving your privacy.
A 9-rated glass, however, with maximum obscurity does not mean you cannot see anything at all. It simply makes it difficult to see anything specific with clarity. A glass insert with a low privacy rating allows lots of light but little privacy; a glass insert with a high privacy rating is closer to being opaque.
Also known as toughened or safety glass, tempered glass is highly suitable for external windows and doors. Because of a quick-cooling manufacturing process, the glass is highly durable and resilient to impact, making it less likely to shatter upon breakage.
It can be distinguished by its white opaque frosting, which offers a very hazy transparency. However, this is not the same as being opaque. Obscure glass still allows large amounts of light to pass through it, illuminating an area. While an opaque surface, such as a wall, doesn't allow any light through.
