Bottom Rail
The bottom most piece of a horizontal blind. These are usually colored to match the rest of the window covering and are weighted to make sure the blinds hang straight. If your blinds have hold down brackets, the brackets are attached to the bottom rail.
The chain-operated vertical blind is perceived by many as the classic mechanism for a vertical blind, and for good reason. A metal chain provides a great level of control and is a reliable option that will last for many years.
Many vertical blinds have a connecting chain running along the bottom of the slats to help keep them in sync. If this chain becomes worn or snagged, it can break. Sorting this out is as simple as getting a new chain and replacing the old one.

What causes your vertical blinds to break? Vertical blinds are sensitive to pressure. If you pull too hard on your blinds or open them too quickly, it will take a toll on the material between the hook and the hole at the top of the slat.
The runner may have become blocked. This often happens with dust and debris buildup, so look up and check to make sure the blinds can move properly along the runner. You'll also want to check the runner itself. A frayed section leads to the pulley getting caught, which prevents it from sliding open and closed.
Valance clips connect your decorative valance to your headrail.
Cord cleats keep dangerous, dangling cords out of the way of playful children and pets. Cord cleats are easily attached to the wall on either side of the window. They're used to wrap the window covering's pull and/or tilt cords around them, keeping the cords tied neatly up and out of the reach of grabby little hands.
Door blinds need hold down brackets to keep the blinds from bouncing around as the door is opened and closed. Hold down brackets are used at the bottom of outside mount blinds or shades to tie down the bottom of the blind.

Or, for maximum privacy and light control, go above and beyond the window frame. We recommend adding between 3” to 6” to your width measurement. Also add 2 ½” to your height measurement to allow enough room for the mounting brackets above the opening. Our suggested floor clearance is ½” to 1”.
here's how to replace the chain on a different type of vertical blinds it's got two set screws that hold the end bracket on so just undo those screws with a Philips screwdriver pull these out pull out the end bracket. and then you can replace the chain this little sprocket here he wrap your chain around.
The wand mechanism also allows the client to put the vertical blind in the exact position they want it in without having to pull chains and cords. The wand is thin and discreet and easily blends into the background, which is often a requirement with blind mechanisms.
Chainless Bottom Weights & Fully Stitched Bottom Pockets
This removes the need for stabilising chains and gives a much cleaner more contemporary look to the blinds. It also increases the life of the blinds due to accidental damage, as frequently they get caught up with pets, etc and get damaged.
Privacy: When the vanes of vertical blinds are open 90 degrees, you can see outdoors and the outdoors can see in. For privacy, angle the vanes of these blinds at about 45 degrees or less, so if you are on one side of the blinds, you won't be seen.
Bottom up blinds work by pulling the blind up from its fixing point at the bottom of the window, normally on the sill or face fixed to the wall or window surround. The blinds are secured using brackets that can be fitted to wood, pvc or even concrete.
Shims are used to level installation brackets if they are on uneven surfaces.
When vertical blinds are drawn, the open vanes gather together forming a "stack" on one side of the window. The size of the vertical blinds stack will vary and is directly proportional to the width of the window blinds.
