The collection's nonstick cookware has a non-toxic compound that's formulated without aluminum, cadmium, PFAS (man-made chemicals), and other yucky things you wouldn't want seeping into your food. Instead, the ceramic coating is infused with diamonds (yes, diamonds!) for durability and quick releases.

“The most nontoxic cookware that you can buy is stainless steel, cast iron or carbon steel; things that don't have a coating on them,” says Alexis Pisciotta, culinary purchasing and events manager and cookware consultant for Food Network.
Materials like stainless steel, cast iron, and ceramic are excellent choices because they do not leach harmful chemicals into your food. Additionally, non-toxic nonstick coatings like ceramic or titanium provide a safer alternative to traditional nonstick pans.
Reviewers on Amazon have warned wear and tear on GreenPan's cookware can build up quickly if you don't clean it with care. Ceramic cookware is prone to chipping and scratching, which is why the brand recommends cooking with silicone utensils over harsh metal spatulas or tongs.
ceramic is among the safest material for pans
From dishes, to glasses, bakeware and cookware, ceramic bakeware is our pick for the best cookware material for health thanks to its non-reactive nature and resistance to high temperatures and acidic foods. Plus it's so pretty!
Be Careful with olive oil
Please remember that olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, butter and oil sprays quickly start to smoke and burn when the pan is hot. This causes carbonization of the pan, which can damage the non-stick layer.
Avoid PFOS
The most harmful cookware is going to be anything with a chemical non-stick coating, sometimes branded as Teflon.

“Glass, like Pyrex cookware, is a safe option,” Perko said. “Cast iron is a safe option if NOT frying or using high-temperature cooking. If you have or can use or purchase stainless steel pots and pans, they are healthier choices for long-term/lifetime use.”
Nonstick cookware
Nonstick pans are made with a group of man-made chemicals called perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFAS are forever chemicals, meaning they never break down. Over time, levels can build up in the soil and the bodies of animals and people.
But stainless steel cookware is the most prized and frequently sought-after by professional chefs and serious home cooks alike. Known for its durability and high heat retention, it can achieve an excellent sear or perfect sauté. And it can last a lifetime.
In 2019, a lawsuit was brought against GreenPan claiming false advertising and concluded with no findings of liability by the company. The case was dismissed. What we said about our products is true. Thermolon coating is free of PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium.

Skousen says she recommends avocado oil and extra-virgin olive oil, particularly for anyone who wants to reduce their risk of cancer or cancer recurrence. “These two are high in heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids,” she says.
Carbonization is Sticky
A few sticky spots appeared out of nowhere? Here's why. Overheating + oils= carbonization (a.k.a. those little spots that cause your food to stick to the pan).
