There are a few different ways to make your own scented dryer sheets. The easiest method is to simply put a few drops of safe fragrance oil onto a cloth and let it dry completely (see section above for choosing a safe fragrance). The cloth can then be tossed in the dryer with your clothing.
I use wool balls in the dryer and I hit about three of them with a few drops of lavender essential oil, sometimes jasmine. Toss them in the dryer with your laundry. Love it on sheets and towels .
Add 4-6 drops of essential oil to the cloth or sheet, and toss it into the dryer with your laundry during the drying cycle. The heat helps release the scent onto your clothes.

As I was saying, you can add 3-4 drops of essential oils on your wool dryer balls for the added fragrance to your laundry. Kind of like how dryer sheets are scented, except the wool dryer balls and essential oils have no added chemicals and aren't wasteful.
Other suggestions for keeping clothes smelling fresh in the tumble dryer included using scent boosters, washing pods, dryer sheets, laundry conditioner soaked into a cloth and emptying the tumble dryer regularly. Sandra Armstrong suggested: “Scent boosters that you put in the washer are brilliant, especially Lenor.”
Essential oils are flammable. Do not add essential oils to dryer sheets.
Remember: It doesn't take a lot of essential oil to make a big impact. Begin with 2-3 drops of essential oil per dryer ball. This should give your laundry a light, fresh scent. You can add up to 5-6 drops for a stronger aroma, but be careful not to overdo it.
Combine a quart of white vinegar with 30 – 40 drops of the essential oil you've selected. This mixture will be your natural laundry freshener. Use ¼ to ½ cup of this scented vinegar solution in place of regular fabric softener during the rinse cycle to infuse your clothing with a non-toxic fragrance.
Soak a few sturdy towels with white vinegar until they're damp but not dripping. Place these in the dryer and run a full cycle. White vinegar's acidity acts as an organic dryer odor remover, neutralizing and banishing those foul smells.
Scent boosters go in the washer drum before inserting your garments or linens. Do not put laundry scent boosters in the dryer as you risk starting a dryer fire. Scent boosters dissolve by liquid, not hot air.
Using Fabric Softener:
Fabric softeners are specially designed to add a soft, pleasant scent to your clothes while reducing static and making them feel cozy. Simply add fabric softener to your laundry during the rinse cycle and let it work its magic.

Downy Infusions Calm with lavender and vanilla is everyone's favorite because it has the relaxing fragrance, while Gain's Moonlight Breeze gives you fruity, exotic infusions in the laundry. Snuggle Blue Sparkle offers clean, fresh scents fit for every day.
Make Use of Dryer Sheets: Dryer sheets are a simple way of boosting the freshness of odorous clothes. They are available in some scents for you to choose from.
Although dryer sheets are a quick, disposable, and effective way to reduce static and add some fragrance to your laundry, wool dryer balls are a more eco-friendly option that works just as well. Best of all, they're great for adding your preferred scent using natural essential oils to keep laundry smelling good.
Because of their flammable properties and the fact that dryer machines can run on pretty hot settings, you should never add essential oils directly in your dryer. We recommend putting a couple of drops of your preferred essential oil to wool dryer balls, which will be added to your load.
Option #1: Add at the Start of the Drying Cycle
If convenience is key, simply add the dryer ball with the essential oil at the beginning of the drying cycle. This method results in a light, subtle scent permeating your laundry.
DIRECTIONS: Use three (3) dryer balls for small and medium loads and six (6) dryer balls for large and extra large loads. Before placing balls in dryer, apply 3-6 drops of fragrance oil on each ball. Toss them in dryer with wet clothes. Re-apply fragrance oil as desired.
Essential oils can last days on fabrics, especially if they are of high quality, applied properly and thoroughly, and the fabric is not then put through rigorous use (such as your gym wear).
Dampen the cloth and wring out the water, then add a few drops of your oils to give them a clean scent. Toss in the DIY sheets during the last few minutes of the drying cycle to let the fresh smell infuse with the fibers of the linens.
Recipe: dispense 6 drops of lavender essential oil and 4 drops of chamomile essential oil onto each dryer ball. Let the oils seep in before starting your dryer.
Simply add five to 10 drops of your chosen essential oil to half a cup of unscented laundry detergent, fabric softener, or white vinegar, and add it to your machine as usual. When using essential oils in your laundry, Morse recommends setting your machine to wash on cold or the “eco warm” setting rather than hot.
