Cons: Almost all OTR microwaves can be exhausted to the outdoors in one way or another. The Con is that this may be outside your budget. It could range from $500 to $1,500 to run ductwork to the outdoors and install a proper wall cap.
The vent duct should be made from galvanized steel, stainless steel or copper, and it should have a smooth interior. The vent should always exhaust to the outside, not into an attic or any other interior space.
For an external exhaust the vent is located on the back of the top of the microwave to vent out the roof. If you are venting back into the room it appears to come out of the top at the front.
