Still, replacement windows in a mobile home is entirely different from installations in conventional homes. In some ways, it's a lot easier. Mobile home windows usually come in standard sizes and styles, instead of a wide variety of unwieldy custom models.
Mobile homes typically have four basic types of windows: jalousie windows, horizontal sliders, vertical sliders, and awning windows.
Mobile Home Double Pane Windows
Double pane windows for a mobile or manufactured home can be a big upgrade in energy efficiency for a home, and also will eliminate the potential need for storm windows.
Manufactured home window and door sizes can be smaller than site built, but can also be larger! Typically, they're the same as site built and even have green options! You may wonder if manufactured home doors and windows are different sizes than traditional site-built home doors and windows.
A major difference between mobile home replacement windows and normal home replacement windows is that they typically come in standard sizes. Ideally, one would want to remove the window and actually measure the opening to find the right size.

What is an Awning Window? An awning window has hinges at the top of the frame, and swings outward from the bottom. They can open with the simple crank of a handle or with the basic glide of the Easy-Slide Operator hardware. Awning windows are great in places that could use extra ventilation and light.
They come in a wide range of sizes to fit any rough opening. They are often found in the bedroom, kitchen, hallways, and all over the house. Double-hung window width can be anywhere from 24 to 48 inches. A double hung window's height can range from 36 to 72 inches.
Measure from the high point of the sill of your window (the surface closest to the inside of the window) to the top of the window opening. Make three measurements: one at the left side, one at the center and one at the right side of the window. Use the smallest of these three height measurements to order the window.
Sliding windows have fewer options than double-hung windows: 36, 48, 60, 72, and 84 inches are the horizontal sizes. 24, 36, 48, and 60 inches are the vertical sizes. If you hear an installer say a window is “6040,” that means that a window is six feet wide and four feet tall.
Mobile homes are designed to be light, but the walls still have wooden studs and manufacturers will often use 1/4-inch paneling to cover the framing. The wall studs are spaced to support 4-by-8 panels, so the mobile home drywall, which comes in 8ft by 4ft sheets, should be no problem to install.
Installing shiplap is an easy project which can make the walls of any home, including mobile home walls, have that rustic farmhouse charm that so many loves.

Mobile homes need different-sized doors than regular homes. Many mobile home doors are actually smaller than a regular, standard home door. This means a store-bought replacement pre-hung door will not fit into the mobile home opening as is. The standard door must be cut down to size to be installed in the mobile home.
Also, although standard exterior mobile home doors come in many sizes, by far the most common sizes are 32 X 72 for most mobile homes built before 1980 and 32 X 76 for mobile homes built after 1980.
If you have a double door entryway, the standard size will be 72” x 80”, or double the width of a single front door with the same height. Be sure to measure the thickness of your existing door. Most exterior doors will be 1-3/4 inch thick.
Recommended rough opening is between 3/4" (19mm) - 1" (25mm) larger than the window width and height.
Just remember that vinyl or aluminum window measurements include the entire unit -- glass, frame and sash -- while wood window sizes go by the measure of the glass. You'll have more visible glass in a three-foot wood window than a three-foot vinyl window, but you'll also have a larger window unit in wood.
