Dawn Dishwashing Liquid is an excellent clean but not for a jetted tub. Using Dawn will create too many suds and make rinsing out the tub difficult.
Normal tub jet cleaning is accomplished without disassembly by filling with hot water 2'' above highest jet, adding 1/2 cup of Dawn dish detergent + 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. Alternately adding 3 dishwasher detergent packets.
Fill the tub with hot water a few inches above the jets. Depending on the tub size, add anywhere from 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup of mild dish detergent. I found that using the hottest water, a bit of dishwasher detergent (NOT DISHWASHING DETERGENT!!!!!!!!) and some bleach. Fill tub with all hot water, add detergent and bleach, run jets for about 10 minutes. Let solution set in tub a half hour or so, and turn jets on again for 10 minutes.
