FrogTape Delicate Surface is specifically designed to work on surfaces like wallpaper, fresh paint or finished wood and removes cleanly for 60 days.
Q1® Sensitive Surface Masking Tape. This brand new delicate masking tape can be used even on wallpaper or freshly painted surfaces, when you need a lower adhesion level to help prevent surface damage.
If your paint is being pulled off by the painters tape, it's an indication that your prep work for the painting is insufficient. Your paint isn't bonding properly to the surface. Use delicate tape, but more importantly, make sure your initial prep work is good. Clean surfaces well with sugar soap.
Yes, the Delicate Surface FrogTape (yellow) can be used on freshly painted surfaces. However, the surface must be dry to the touch and we recommend to test a small area first.
FrogTape® Delicate Surface Tape
A low adhesion painter's tape that's perfect for use on freshly painted surfaces, wallpaper or faux finishes.
I'm a Painter contractor and buy this tape all the time, it never fails. Yes, I recommend this product.
Remove tape while the paint is still wet. If the paint dries and you notice that the paint is pulling up with the tape, or that the paint is cracking along the paint line as you remove the tape, score along the edge of the tape with a razor blade before removing.
FrogTape® painter's tapes are the only tapes treated with PaintBlock® Technology, a super-absorbent polymer which reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint bleed.
Frog Tape claims to have a paint blocking technology that keeps wet paint from seeping under the edges. Anyone who has done any painting knows that paint has a way of creeping under the edge of painter's tape. There is nothing more frustrating than pulling your tape up and seeing a jagged, jacked up, uneven line.
Tape should be removed when it feels dry to the touch, which is ideally about an hour after painting. If it still feels gummy, leave the tape on overnight and remove it within 24 hours, when it finally feels hard and dry.
Run a damp cloth over the edges of the tape to activate PaintBlock Technology for sharp paint lines.
Improper Painting Surface Preparation
The painting surface needs to be thoroughly prepared before the paint job is initiated. When the paint is applied on an unprimed or uneven surface, it will start blistering and peeling. Proper prep work is a must if you want to avoid this.
Frog Tape Delicate Surface Masking Tape. Low tack masking tape specifically designed for a crisp, sharp line on delicate surfaces, such as freshly painted or plastered walls, wallpaper, treated wood and emulsion paint.
Re: Remove sticky tape from wallpaper
You could potentially warm the sticky tape up with a hairdryer, so the glue softens and then gently peel it away. Any residue left could be cleaned up with earbuds and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
If you have recently painted your walls, this usually indicates that the paint has not fully cured. Stretching the tape as you apply it can also cause it to lift off of the wall. It can also mean that the surface was not properly prepared.
Apply FrogTape® to wall in the desired area, making sure the tape is straight and level. Press down firmly to seal. With a caulk gun loaded with clear latex caulking, carefully apply a thin line of caulking along the edge of the tape, then wipe away excess with your thumb or finger.
FROGTAPE® MULTI-SURFACE PAINTER'S TAPE
This green painter's tape is ideal for masking a variety of surfaces, and is perfect for both basic and advanced paint projects. Avoid use on freshly painted walls, wallpaper and other delicate surfaces.
Paint over the edges of the tape with your base coat color using gentle strokes of a paintbrush: this will create a seal between the tape and the base coat. Sealing the edge of the tape prevents any seeping and ensures that your next paint color won't bleed underneath the tape.
Step 1: For best results, remove the tape while the paint is still wet for the best results. Step 2: Pull the tape off slowly at a 45-degree angle.
It's true painter's tape is more expensive than masking tape and Frog tape is even more expensive again, but this is for good reason as they are a far superior product that has been specifically designed for the purpose of aiding the painter and making their job much easier.
The secret, she said, is running a damp rag over the tape before painting to activate the sealing gel. Here's a picture-esque demo! Boom!
