The Michigan Residential Code (MRC) requires a minimum ceiling height in dwellings of 7 feet 0 inches. This includes habitable rooms as well as hallways, corridors, bathrooms, toilet rooms, laundry rooms and basements.
On the minimum ceiling heights the IRC requires habitable spaces and corridors to be a minimum of 7′-6″ and bathrooms, kitchens, storage areas and laundry areas can have ceilings at 7′-0″ minimum.
The NHBC's standards require a minimum ceiling height of 2.3 metres for habitable rooms.
The second criteria for gross living area is that the space has to be finished. The area must contain walls, floors and ceilings of materials generally accepted for interior construction (painted drywall, carpet etc.) The ceiling height of the finished space must be 7 feet.
However, in general, the minimal ceiling height for a habitable room in India is 8 feet as per the National Building Code (NBC) of India.
Consider the size of the room to determine which ceiling height would look and feel the best. Generally, smaller rooms should have an 8- to 9-foot ceiling, while larger rooms may have a 10- to 12-foot ceiling.

But ideally, it should be about 200 square feet (18.6 square meters). The minimum width of your living room should be 11 to 12 feet (3.35 to 3.65 meters). This is extremely tight, and if you have the space, try to make the width at least 14 feet (4.27 meters).
HABITABLE SPACE is space in a building for living, sleeping, eating or cooking. Bathrooms, toilets, hallways, storage areas, closets, or utility rooms and similar areas are not considered habitable spaces.

The minimum ceiling height for bathrooms and toilet rooms is 6 feet, 8 inches (2032mm).

A low ceiling in a large room will also be more noticeable. The default minimum is 2.4m on the ground floor for anything but budget low-cost homes and 2.3m or 2.2m upstairs. +2.6m starts to give a property an air of grandness.
Therefore, in terms of its name, it doesn't matter whether it has a window or not. You can call a room whatever you want. However, all 'habitable' rooms must have a way of escape. This protects all occupants against fire risk and any other potential reasons to get out quickly.
On average, most indoor golf simulators require a clearance space of 9 feet tall minimum to function. This is a great benchmark to start with, but as you'll soon learn, the bare minimum doesn't make for an extremely practical simulator room.
