3. Press and hold the “Reset” button for 5 seconds. You will hear 3 long beeps after the 5 seconds is completed indicating the lock has been reset. A User Code is used to unlock the door while a Mastercode is a password for making changes to the lock features.
The lock is pre-programmed with a default User Code of 1-2-3-4. It is recommended that you delete this code. 1. Make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is open.

To set a code for the second user, press the SmartCode “Program” button twice to program a security code for the second user, such as a relative. Enter a four to eight digit security code on the outside electronic lock keypad and press the “Lock” button again.

How Many Guests Can I “Invite” to access my Premis lock? You can invite up to fifteen(15) Apple HomeKit to access your Premis lock through the Home app. You can also provide up to 30 user access codes using the Premis App.
For example, if you want to program User Code 2, press the program button twice. Many Kwikset locks hold 4 User Codes, but some hold as many as 30 at once. The program button is a small black button in the battery compartment of the lock.

Deleting a user code In order to delete a user code, you must override the code by adding a different user code in the same position. For example, if you want to delete the third code, add a different user code in position three. NOTE: Test the old user code to make sure it can no longer unlock the door.
Check that the bolt hole is at least 1” deep so the bolt fully extends. Check that the door closes properly so that when the deadbolt is extended, it is going into the bolt hole and not hitting the deadbolt strike or door frame. Check that the mounting screws securing the exterior keypad are not over-tightened.
The Deadbolt Does Not Lock The Door And Kevo Convert Beeps/Lights Up Red. This is a 'bolt jam' alert. It means that Kevo Convert was unable to extend the deadbolt and your door was not locked. This happens when the door was not shut properly and the deadbolt could not fully extend into the strike hole.
