Because most of the default code of the keypad door lock are very simple when they are set at the factory, either 00000 or 1234, which can be easily deciphered by strangers, it is very important to change a use code that only you know and is not easy to be guessed by others.
Offline locks with keypads have a default PIN of 13579 and “#”, which can be used for installation, testing and construction access. To test, enter the default PIN (13579 and “#”). The Schlage button will blink and the lock will unlock.
Try rebooting the door lock by removing the batteries. Removing the batteries will force the device to reset. Then, check the security panel (or control panel) to make sure that the door lock is appearing on the list of connected devices. If it is not appearing, reconnect it.
The default programming code is printed on a label on the programming guide that came with your lock. If you do not have access to the guide, remove the lock from the door and look on the back of the lock for a label containing the default code.
If you need to find your programming code, look inside the back of your lock. Simply remove the battery cover and you'll see a label with your Prog. Code.
Most models: Disconnect the battery and press the Schlage button. Reconnect the battery within 10 seconds, then hold the Schlage button until it's green. Schlage Connect & DE265 models: Remove the battery pack, then hold the Schlage button. Reconnect the batteries while holding the button, then release it.
Schlage® Lock - 6-Digit Programming Code.
The lock comes preset with two unique default User Codes. They may be found on the stickers, one on the back of the keypad assembly and one on the front of this User Guide. Used to unlock the lock. These four digits must be different from the first four digits of the Programming Code.
Keys are typically printed with an alphanumeric code called a key identification number, a key code or a key number that allows locksmiths and companies to replicate keys without the need to install a whole new lock system.
User Codes • A User Code can be any combination of 4 - 8 digits entered into the keypad to unlock the lock. The first 4-6 digits must be different from the first 4-6 digits of the Programming Code. Two User Codes are programmed into the lock by default.
When the Schlage Encode keypad itself is not working, here's the best way to troubleshoot: Check the batteries, power level, and connections: Ensure the lock is getting proper power by checking the power source. Make sure you didn't enable Vacation Mode: If vacation mode is enabled, the keypad will not work.
The Schlage Connect deadbolt will continue to work even if it's not connected to the internet if, for example, you choose not to use remote access or if your internet is down. In these instances, you can lock and unlock the door and manage access codes at the touchscreen.
In most cases the key number will be stamped on the front of the lock next to where the key enters. In some cases the number may also be stamped on the original key.
