We've tested many brands and recommend these two products, Stonetech Bulletproof Sealer and Stonetech Enhancer Pro Sealer. An enhancing sealer will darken your grout by several shades, and is used if you want to make your grout a little darker.

The easiest way to change grout color is to stain it.

If the while condition is actually efflorescence then it should be able to be removed with a slightly acidic solution like vinegar, which should only be used as a test to verify it is efflorescence. If it is efflorescence, then purchase a tile cleaner that is made for removing efflorescence.
Damp showers produce brown grout even more than other areas

Topical sealers form a film on the surface, and that thin film acts as an absolute barrier. Color sealing your grout may be a recent innovation, but it is certainly not just a fad. Quality color sealers repel oil and water-based liquids, which will prevent food and beverage stains. In addition, they contain constant acting mildewcides and other agents that inhibit the growth of bacteria and mildew.
Your choices in grout sealers are a topical sealer that can offer a wet look, or a penetrating sealer that has a natural look, which protects the grout but does not change the look of the grout.
There are two ways you can change the colour of your grout. You can either remove the old and replace it with new, or you can dye your existing grout. The latter will only work if you currently have light grout and you want to dye it darker.

Some call it the wet look. Some call it the enhanced look. But either way, what it does is it darkens and enriches the colors of the brick. It does not change the color, however.
