Verdict: Is Calphalon Made in the USA? Unfortunately, Calphalon has moved much of its product manufacturing overseas to China and is sourcing many of its materials from Germany and several Asian countries. However, most of its Premier Stainless Steel Cookware Sets are still made in Toledo, Ohio.
The bulk of our nonstick cookware which is manufactured from aluminum is still produced here in Toledo, Ohio. Our Stainless Steel and Cast Iron products are entirely produced overseas in China. In general, you want to replace nonstick pans after five years. But you need to be particularly careful with nonstick cookware produced before 2015, as it may contain PFOA. If your cookware dates back to 2015 and earlier, it's likely time to replace it even if it doesn't contain PFOAs.

Teflon: Some nonstick pans are sealed with a Teflon coating that can contain PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) or PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), which can create toxic fumes when heated. These toxic fumes may cause what is known as “polymer fume fever.” Symptoms include breathing difficulty, fever and sore throat.
T-fal purchased in the US is always made in China. Does the manufacture place make a difference in the quality? I do feel the red dot thermo works better with French one. They are about the same price, and if I had a choice in the US purchasing Tefal from French with same price, I won't go for T-fal.
