“We will continue to make Kenmore-brand appliances for Sears,” Sherman says. Whirlpool makes washing machines, dishwashers, and refrigerators that bear the Kenmore badge. In addition to Whirlpool-branded appliances, the company also manufactures Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and Maytag kitchen and laundry appliances.
As of 2017, Kenmore products are produced by manufacturers including Whirlpool, LG, Electrolux, Panasonic, Cleva North America, and Daewoo Electronics. Today, the majority of the brand's portfolio is sold at Sears, Kmart, and Amazon.
The company had 3,500 Sears and Kmart stores when they merged in 2005. There are fewer than 1,000 today. Fewer locations are selling Kenmore products, and customers are concerned about Sears' long-term future.

At present, Whirlpool still makes Kenmore appliances, although this could change as time goes on. Until then, you can expect to find your favorite Kenmore washing machines on sale at Sears, and other online retailers, manufactured by Whirlpool.

Kenmore products are no longer for sale in Canada, but Sears Holdings Inc., which sells the Kenmore brand, still operates in the U.S. and sells these appliances there. Brun del Re's paperwork showed that his compressor had a 10-year manufacturer's warranty.

To figure out the manufacturer, you need only look at the model number. The first three digits followed by a dot (###.) reveal the manufacturer.
Locate the serial number on a Kenmore washer made by Whirlpool. The second letter of the serial number identifies the year the machine was manufactured. For instance, “L” represents 2001, “M” means 2002 and, continuing through the alphabet, “Y” means 2009.
Last December we predicted by the end of 2021 there would be between 40 and 45 full-line Sears and Kmart stores remaining in the continental United States and American territories including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.
Transformco, which acquired Sears and Kmart out of bankruptcy in February 2019, said in a November statement that after the closings, it will operate 182 stores. "We will continue to evaluate our Sears and Kmart footprint, consistent with our overall retail and service strategy," the statement said.

Sears created Allstate in 1931, selling car insurance through its mail catalog. The company later expanded into other types of insurance, such as life and health insurance. After taking part of the company public in 1993, Allstate eventually went fully public two years later.
As one of the longest-standing and most reputable major appliance brands in the industry, Maytag has been a part of the Whirlpool corporation since 2006. Since this merger took place 15 years ago, these brands have become a constant in quality and reliability.
LG Electronics USA Inc., based in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., is the North American subsidiary of LG Electronics, Inc., a $48 billion global force and technology leader in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications.
Most top-freezer Kenmore fridges are made by Electrolux, and are similar to Frigidaire models. Most side-by-side and some inexpensive French door models are made by Whirlpool, while nearly all high-end French door and some side-by-side models are made by LG.
Michigan-based Whirlpool (which also owns Maytag and KitchenAid) makes many of the best performing wall ovens on the market.
