The general rule of thumb is to replace all your supply line hoses every 5 years as a preventative measure to protect your home against any potential leaks. But since braided supply lines have a rubber core, we recommend that they can be replaced every 10 years.
Every hose, no matter the condition it's in, should be replaced every 5 years. Replacing your dishwasher's water line is much easier when you have a plan. If you wait too long to take care of a worn line, you could pay the price in damages and expenses.
Most new kitchen faucets come with integral supply lines that there's no hope in avoiding. They come with 3/8'' connections. Your main dilemma is that your existing shut-off valves appear to come with their own integral supply lines as well which is unfortunate because those are known to fail after time.

Pipe Material
Regardless of the material, each of these plumbing products have a life span that you should know so you can gauge whether you need an upgrade. Brass, cast iron, and galvanized steel have a life span of 80 to 100 years, copper lasts 70 to 80 years, and PVC piping only survives for 24 to 50 years.
The water supply pipe can last decades, so it can be hard to predict when it will need to be replaced. Signs of a broken water service line include a sudden increase in water bills, soggy spots on the property, low water pressure, or contaminated water.
Common connector sizes are typically 3/8-inch compression or 1/2-inch threaded fittings. Measure the distance from the shut-off valve to the faucet to determine the appropriate length of supply lines needed. Standard lengths range from 12 inches to 5 feet, but longer options are available if necessary.

Despite this, tree roots and aggressive weather factors can seriously damage drainage lines. They replace PVC pipe most often required after 25-40 years of operation. The service life of cast iron pipes is somewhat longer and amounts to 80-100 years.
