It set up fast, in about 30 minutes, and was Gorilla tough after curing for 24 hours. If you have really big jobs to do, I'd recommend you get Gorilla's larger construction adhesive for the gun, but for smaller jobs this size is great.
The gap-filling, durable, 100% waterproof adhesive formula is perfect for indoor and outdoor projects, holds in 30 seconds, and bonds virtually anything including subfloor, mirrors, trim, drywall, landscaping, bath surrounds, foamboard, marble and more!
It's 100% adhesive formula provides a long-lasting, heavy duty bond. We call it All Surface, All Purpose. The durable, 100% waterproof formula holds up indoors and out and bonds virtually anything including subfloor, mirrors, trim, drywall, landscaping, bath surrounds, foam board, marble and more.
For paneling and drywall, Loctite Power Grab Express All-Purpose 1 Gallon is the heavy duty construction adhesive of choice. If you're looking for something even more powerful, the strongest and most versatile construction adhesive in the Loctite arsenal is the PL Premium Max.
The name of the world's strongest adhesive is DELO MONOPOX. This is a modified version of the high-temperature-resistant DELO MONOPOX HT2860. This epoxy resin forms a very dense network during heat curing.
Its high strength and quick set time make Gorilla Super Glue the go-to adhesive for a variety of household projects. Developed for long-lasting repairs in an instant, the clear glue dries in 10-45 seconds.
VERSATILE: Easily bonds wood, stone, metal, ceramic, foam, glass, concrete and much more!
Gorilla Heavy Duty Grab Adhesive
Creates a strong bond with little-to-no shrinkage. Ideal for construction projects where a strong bond is needed.
The construction glue will not be fully cured until the cure time has passed. Liquid Nails Heavy Duty, for example, dries to a strength of 150 psi in 24 hours but takes a week to reach its peak shear strength of 240 psi. It dries in 15 minutes and you should expect it to cure within seven days.
Non-porous surfaces — like plastics, metals and painted surfaces — can slow drying or curing time of construction adhesive and caulk from 24 hours to several days, or even weeks! It's recommended that at least one of the bonding surfaces be porous whenever possible.
Original Gorilla glue doesn't dry, it wets: the cure mechanism for that variety of polyurethanes is addition (combination with water from the substrate or atmosphere) and, for items clamped tightly together with severely limited ingress, that takes time.
Gorilla Glue Original will work well on many types of plastic; however, we do not recommend for use on polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE) plastics or any type of rubber with high oil or plasticizer content.
While Gorilla Glue is incredibly strong, it does have a few disadvantages. One is that it can be difficult to remove. Another is that it can be toxic if ingested. Overall, Gorilla Glue is a very versatile adhesive that has a lot to offer.
Gorilla Spray Adhesive forms a clear, permanent bond that is moisture resistant and can be used on projects both indoors and out. This spray adhesive is also photo safe.
Because the glue requires water to start the chemical reaction, it offers superior water resistance and strength even in very cold or warm temperatures.
Drying Time
You should give the glue the full 24 hours to completely dry. However, to achieve 80% of the total dryness, you should expect the white version of Gorilla Glue to take just a single hour. The original version's drying time is between one and two hours.
Although Elmer's Glue was the weakest glue in the sanded results, Super Glue was the weakest Glue in the non-sanded results and Tacky Glue was the strongest glue overall.
Different Types of Glue and Their Drying Times
Epoxy is a two-part adhesive that takes longer to dry, usually at least 12 hours or more. Hot glue dries almost instantly and is great for quick fixes. Each type of glue will have its own drying times, so it's important to read the manufacturer's instructions before use.
Loctite PL Premium Fast Grab Polyurethane
Loctite's PL Premium Fast Grab Construction Adhesive is a high-strength, fast-drying adhesive that goes on tackier than some other brands. Tackier sealants take less time to form a bond.
The problem with some glues or construction adhesives, (and what you're trying to avoid) is that they do not have the right chemical makeup to stick properly to porous surfaces, which is the case of concrete, or stone.
