One of the most common ways people circumvent the door slamming problem is to install pneumatic door closers. Installed at the top door and connecting to the door frame, this type of door closer actively stops the door slamming shut using hydraulic pressure, thereby making it impossible to create a loud noise.
If door force is relatively light, use an old shoe. An old paperback (open it up, the edge will be thinner than the spine). For stronger forces, you probably need a wedge shaped object. That way as the door pushes closed the wedge shape digs downward increasing friction. Roll a newspaper or magazine into a cone shape.
Tighten Existing Hinge Screws
Often, this repair alone is enough to fix a sagging door. With the cordless drill or manual screwdriver, tighten all of the screws in the top hinge by turning clockwise. Be sure to tighten screws on both the door side and on the jamb side.

Roll up an empty plastic water bottle until it fits well in the gap between your door and the floor. This will keep your door wide open for you to enter and exit as needed.
