Common Bathroom Sink Sizes
Small: From 15 to 20 inches long and nine to 12 inches wide, with a depth between 5-3/4-in. and seven inches. Medium: From 20 to 30 inches long, 19 to 24 inches wide and about seven inches deep. Large: From 30 to 50 inches long, 19 to 24 inches wide and about five inches deep.
For length and width, measure from one outer sink lip to the opposite side (for most sinks), or from the edge of the counter to the other edge lengthwise (for undermount). For round and oval sinks, measure the diameter, or the length across the widest point of the sink.
There's no standard size for a bathroom sink. Some petite basins are just big enough for washing your hands, while the largest sinks are big enough for washing hair or delicate clothing.
There are three common drain sizes for bathroom sinks, 1.25", 1.5" and 1 5/8 (1.625"). You need to select a drain that is the same size or SMALLER than the hole in your sink. For example, if you have a sink with a drain hole of 1.75", than any of the drains 1.25", 1.5", or 1.65" will work.
The size of a drop-in sink is based on the size of the countertop. Typical round vanity sinks are 16″ to 20″ in diameter (oval shapes may be wider). Basin depths are typically 5-8″. Round up to the nearest increment.

If your countertop is exposed, you have an under-mount sink. Use inside measurements to find a sink with similar measurements. Ensure you place your measuring tape at the top of the sink and measure the length (side to side), width (front to back), and depth (from the middle of the basin to the top of the sink).

While the front-to-back measurement of the sink typically remains the same (roughly 22 inches) due to the size of most cabinets, the length of various kitchen sinks can vary immensely. This size range will cover most of the options you'll find when shopping.

Some older sinks may have even smaller pipes like 1 1/4-inch in diameter but these are not as common. If you have a standard kitchen sink drain, then a 1 1/2-inch pipe is typically sufficient.
Single-bowl sinks are generally larger than double-bowl sinks, which can make them more convenient for tasks such as washing large pots and pans. They also offer more uninterrupted space for items such as a drying rack or cutting board. Single-bowl sinks are often less expensive than double-bowl sinks.
Due to their simplicity, oval sinks complement countertops of any design and color. Their classic design also makes them easy to pair with almost any bathroom style. They are space-savers, as many of them are designed to fit into small spaces. They have no place for dirt to get trapped, thus are easy to clean.
Sinks generally come in one of three configurations: 6”, 8”, and 6”-16”. The faucet will cover the holes in most of these configuration. You will need to measure the width between the outer holes or estimate it by measuring the width of the deck plate. A 3-hole sink is very common in bathrooms.
The most popular bathroom sink shape is by far the Oval Sink. It's the ideal size as it's wider than round & square sinks but it allows more counterspace than rectangular sinks. Due to its popularity, it's also the most affordable type of shape.
Bathroom sinks made from clay-based ceramic material such as vitreous china, fireclay and porcelain are common and easy to clean. Metal sinks, including brass, copper and stainless steel varieties, are durable choices.

Depending on the design of your sink, it may have one, two or three holes, and they may appear between the faucet valves, facing toward you, or under the near rim, facing the mirror. They serve two functions: to prevent an overflow with the drain stopper engaged and to provide an escape route for air in the drain.
The standard faucet hole sizes for kitchens and bathrooms are 1 3/8″ (1.375 Inches or 34.925 mm) in diameter unless otherwise mentioned in the specification.
