The two main nutrients that support excellent root growth in plants are phosphorous and potassium. These two ingredients are extremely helpful in any fertiliser mix that needs to encourage a thick, healthy collection of brand-new roots, or to strengthen and stimulate existing systems.
Use starter fertilizer when transplanting to give your plants a faster start. Starter fertilizer is an all-soluble fertilizer high in phosphorus, for example10-50-10 or 10-52-17. Mix fertilizer with water (about 2 tablespoons per gallon of water).

When you transplant a plant into a new pot, the roots are exposed and vulnerable. They need time to heal and adapt to their new surroundings. If you don't water them, the roots can die and the plant will eventually perish. Immediately after repotting, give your plants a good watering.
Root crops (carrots, beets, turnips, etc.) are not suited to transplants as the process will damage the root. Corn, cucurbits (squash, cucumbers, melons) and beans/peas don't like to be transplanted but can be with care.
Keep the plants well-watered. Protect them from strong winds. Plant on a cloudy day or in the evening if possible so plants can recover out of strong sun. Provide a little nutrient solution to the roots, especially one that is high in phosphorus.
Can We Use Sugar Water For Dying Plants? Although it is not considered a fertilizer, you can use sugar if your plants aren't doing so well. Sugar water in plants can help the microorganisms in the soil break down all the nutrients. It is vastly not recommended, though, to use just the sugar as plant food to save them.
