Removing a coating applied within 24 hours
In this case, spray the area and the microfiber cloth with Finest Wipe, isopropyl alcohol, or another paint degreaser. Gently wipe a fragment of the coating, and then spread the product with the clean side of the microfiber.

Step 1: Apply Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)

Avoid automatic car wash using brushes, mitts, or other material that will touch the vehicle's surface. Do NOT wash any ceramic coated vehicle in direct sunlight or any vehicle surface that is warm to the touch. Do NOT use any car soaps or shampoos with wax, petroleum distillates, or a pH under 5.0 or above 9.0.
To be on the safe side, you shouldn't directly apply rubbing alcohol straight from the bottle or container to your car's paint. Dilute the alcohol by mixing it with water. A mixture of 10% to 20% rubbing alcohol to 80% to 90% water is effective and won't damage the paint.
For cleaning new home ceramics, spray hydrogen peroxide on the ceramics and joints. For tougher stains and dirt, you can allow the solution to sit on the surface for a while, usually a few minutes. Gently clean the surface with a sponge or brush.
Does vinegar harm ceramic coating? As vinegar is an acid, it can eat away at your car's clear, glossy finish, eventually dulling it.
The use of acetone to remove the ceramic coating is not advised. There is no chemical method of removing it; only a long process of washing, rinsing, decontamination, or polishing will help remove the ceramic coating on a car.
Peeling: This does not occur frequently; however, once the ceramic coating starts peeling, it is completely worn. In this case, a topper or booster needed to maintain the coatings cannot work on the surface again. They can only be effective if the ceramic coating is in good condition.
Polishing. Most professional specialists agree that using an orbital polisher with a polishing compound is the best way to remove a ceramic coating. Because polishing may essentially "cut" through the resistive coating until the clear coat is reached, it is by far the simplest method.
Rubbing alcohol is excellent for deep cleaning, but you don't want to overdo its use. Too much rubbing alcohol dries tile and grout, creating a dull appearance. Dry tile also becomes brittle over time, while overly dry grout loses its adhesion. To use rubbing alcohol safely, add just a capful to a gallon of warm water.
Furniture, walls, or anything else that is painted or finished with lacquer, shellac, or varnish, won't respond well to rubbing alcohol. Left on the surface for too long, the alcohol will begin to eat away at the paint or finish, leaving you with an uneven coat of color.
Isopropyl alcohol is pure alcohol and is a colorless liquid with a musty, sharp odor. There are no other ingredients in a bottle of isopropyl alcohol. By contrast, rubbing alcohol contains isopropyl alcohol among other ingredients, such as water. Most rubbing alcohol brands contain 70% isopropyl alcohol.
When rubber is exposed to isopropanol, it can cause swelling, cracking, and other forms of degradation. The rubber can become less elastic and lose its flexibility. Over time, exposure to isopropanol can cause the rubber to become brittle and eventually break down.
What to expect. Alcohol makes swirly patterns as it goes into the water. When stirred, the alcohol completely dissolves into the water.
If used correctly—diluted and rinsed off promptly—it poses minimal risk to your paint. However, if left to sit or used in large amounts, the alcohol can soften the clear coat, leading to dullness or even peeling. This is why it's essential to wipe it off and rinse the area thoroughly right after application.
For wax or sealant removal, use a 50% IPA solution (1 part 99% IPA to 1 part distilled water). This concentration effectively breaks down oily residues without being too harsh on the paint.
The only things you really don't want to use isopropyl alcohol on are leather (it can damage the protective coating or even fade the colour) and upholstery (it won't damage it but it's not really practical). Instead, just use soap and water, and clean with a cloth or sponge in a gentle circular motion.
Ceramic coatings can't damage your paint, regardless of what you do. However, improper application can leave streaks, high spots, hazing, and horrible reflections.
The lesson is simple: unless your goal is to strip the ceramic coating off your car, keep the polish away. Car wax and polish are not the same. Car waxes with ingredients like carnauba wax and synthetic shine polymers are perfectly safe to use—and even recommended to use—on top of ceramic coatings.
Smooth Surface: Ceramic coatings are known for providing an extremely smooth and glossy finish. While this makes them highly effective in repelling dirt and water, it can also make it challenging for adhesives to bond effectively. Adhesives typically adhere better to surfaces with some texture or roughness.
