ACV is more acidic than regular vinegar so it is much stronger to remove all the hard water, grime, and to descale your machine! Fill the coffee pot with half apple cider vinegar + half water. So, if your machine makes 12 cups - fill to the 6 cup mark with ACV and the rest with water.
For other items found in the kitchen, apple cider vinegar also works well. Kettles and coffee pots can be easily descaled by spraying them with your solution and letting it rest for 15 minutes before wiping away.
Apple cider vinegar is different than white vinegar because it retains a sweet, fruity flavor from the apples. White vinegar is stronger than apple cider with a higher percentage of acetic acid. Reach for apple cider vinegar when you want to add flavor to salad dressings and sauces.

Apple cider vinegar makes a great 1:1 substitution for white wine vinegar in any dish that might benefit from sour apple notes. Try it in German potato salad or warm farro salad, or use it in the pickling liquid for giardiniera or the marinade for sheet pan honey-Dijon chicken and vegetables.
ACV is non-toxic, biodegradable, and it is ideal for removing bacteria, mineral deposits and dirt. Kill germs and remove odors from laundry by adding one cup of ACV to each laundry load. Keep your washing machine sparkling clean by adding two cups of ACV and running an empty washer through a laundry cycle.
Apple cider vinegar will also work to clean your shower head, but may not be as effective as white distilled vinegar, which may mean a little more scrubbing is necessary to get your shower head clean.

This will help descale and disinfect the machine.
Clean the Ice Maker with a Vinegar Solution: Now, mix one part distilled white vinegar with one part water and use this solution to clean the interior surfaces and mechanisms of the ice maker. Vinegar also helps to dissolve mineral deposits and sanitizes the unit simultaneously.

White vinegar substitute: If you need a different vinegar to substitute for white vinegar, use apple cider vinegar or malt vinegar. You could also swap in lemon or lime juice, depending on your recipe. When you're canning or pickling, there are no comparable substitutes.
