The dishwasher must be mounted to either the cabinets around it or to the counter's underside to prevent it from tipping while it is in use. If you have a quartz counter, the dishwasher cannot be screwed directly to the top; use an alternative method instead.
Quartz is one of the hardest coming only next to diamond, topaz, and conundrum. However, just like other natural stone, you cannot screw directly on the stone countertop for the risk of cracking or breaking.
The most effective way to secure a dishwasher to the base kitchen cabinets is to install mounting brackets on the side of the appliance. You may need to invest in a side mounting bracket kit or convert existing countertop brackets.
Dishwashers are installed using screws and brackets on typical countertops. Granite, marble or stone countertops, however, can't be drilled or tapped with screws. Adhesives must be used.
You can either use a diamond bit or a tungsten carbide bit to drill into granite. Both options are suitable to a particular extent, but the diamond core bits are the best. Tungsten carbide drill bits can also cut through granite, though not as effectively as diamond-coated drill bits.
Drill pilot holes through the screw holes of the mounting brackets into the side of the cabinet, advises Sears Parts Direct. Drive the screws into the cabinet side with the drill or an electric screwdriver to secure the mounting brackets and hold the dishwasher in place.
Dishwashers. Not all kitchens have dishwashers, but if you do, your granite countertops will probably go right over it. This means a little over 24 inches of countertop space with no cabinet underneath that will need additional support.
Drilling quartz with a metal drill will dull it rapidly. Aside from that, the heat generated by friction can crack the quartz crystal. Drilling quartz countertops usually require a diamond hole drill bit because it is not as likely to chip or damage the top due to heat.
A drill press, rotary tool or handheld drill can be used to make a hole in quartz crystal. For large holes, use a diamond-tipped hole saw bit. For small holes, you may need to change the chuck on the drill to one that will accept tiny bits. Never drill quartz crystal without adequate lubrication.
Install the Countertop
Install the quartz slabs one at a time, starting with the section surrounding the sink. To secure the slab, apply beads of silicone adhesive to the tops of the cabinet's underneath. Apply adhesive beads 6 to 12 inches apart to ensure the silicone will hold the counter in place securely.
The most common maximum slab length for both granite and quartz is 125” L x 65” W. This means if your lower cabinets are longer than 125” in length that your countertops will have to be seamed. Otherwise, you can achieve seamless quartz countertops. 6.
You should be fine. Quartz counters are heat resistant and are designed to stand up to normal kitchen use. They just might conduct the heat a bit better than formica or whatever you had before. I wouldn't worry abut it.
There are two fairly easy ways to fill a gap between the dishwasher and countertop. They are to: Raise the dishwasher's adjustable feet. Elevate the dishwasher with shims, and then cover with a toe plate if necessary.

When securing a dishwasher to masonry-type counters, use blue screws, which are fasteners designed to be used with rock materials such as granite. Blue screws are constructed of a harder material than regular screws, and are covered with blue paint, which performs like a lubricant when heated.
Recommended Wood Screw For Granite Brackets
Several different types of wood screws will “work” for this application. However, we recommend using #12 1.5″ wood screws. The reason is our mounting holes are 1/4″ thick and #12 wood screws are . 24″ thick and will fit perfectly.
Drill using a carbide bit slightly larger than the screw diameter. Carbide tipped bits last longer than masonry bits, but cost more. If there are many holes use carbide (they will also drill faster if the drill has an impact or hammer selection switch).
Attach a Mounting Strip
Use a silicone adhesive to attach the strip to the quartz just above the mounting clips. Adjust the feet on the dishwasher to get the mounting clips level with the strip and screw the dishwasher right into the wood. Take care not to screw too far and crack the quartz.
When installing granite countertops, you will not need an underlayment of plywood if the granite has a thickness of 3 centimeters (about 1 1/4 inches). However, for granite with a thickness of 2 centimeters (about 3/4 inches), you will definitely need to use plywood for support.
Drill Holes in the Cabinets
Before you can install the drain hose and water line to the dishwasher, you'll need to drill two holes in the sink base cabinet. For the drain hose, this is a 1 1/2-inch hole located near the back of the cabinet and as high as possible without hitting the sink.
Silicone adhesive
Silicone is the best adhesive for installing quartz countertops. Silicone adhesive is non-toxic and flexible. Like glue, it's perfect for installing quartz countertops.
Apply silicone adhesive in beads on the cabinet
To ensure that the quartz is securely held, space each adhesive bead by 6-12 inches. Do not wait for the adhesive to dry to remove the painter's tape as it will be more difficult.
