You Shouldn't Always Use It
The quick wash cycle should only be used for light stains and soiling, if your shirt smells a bit musty or has some light stains then a quick wash will do the job. But for more stubborn stains and bulky clothing, a quick wash simply won't do the job.
High-grade commercial washing machines at a laundromat have the efficiency to deep clean clothes in shorter wash cycles. So, you can be assured that your clothes will come out clean after a quick wash. However, the quick wash cycle isn't meant to clean clothes with ground- dirt or heavy stains.
Also, 15 minutes isn't long enough to clean a full load of washing, even if it isn't stained.
A quick wash cycle cleans clothes effectively, but we only recommend it for lightly soiled clothes, and laundry that is not heavily stained or odorous. The quick wash cycle typically includes a shortened wash cycle and a high-speed spin cycle, so it helps quicken drying time.
The normal cycle is a bit more aggressive, so it's ideal for sturdy fabrics, like denim, bedding, towels, and most clothing. As the name implies, the heavy duty cycle should be reserved for heavily soiled items since it's longer and uses a high-speed spin.
Wash with a cold cycle
Washing with a cold cycle can save you more than 80% of your energy consumption and cost. This is because most of the energy is used just to heat up the water in warm washes. Cold washes are just as clean as warm washes in most situation.
A quick wash cycle that takes approximately 15 minutes to complete will be able to clean lightly soiled items of clothing. However, this length of time is not going to be long enough to clean heavily soiled/stained items of clothing.
That depends on your washing machine's settings. Most washers need 32 to 38 minutes to clean your clothes, though some allow you to purchase an extra-long wash and/or rinse cycle. Alternatively, some washers are extremely efficient and give you the option to wash your clothes under 30 minutes.
A normal wash cycle usually takes between 50 minutes to an hour to complete.
How Long is a Quick Wash Cycle? Typically selected for small, lightly soiled loads, the Quick Wash cycle takes between 15–40 minutes to complete depending on the model and brand. Quick Wash Cycle uses shorter periods of more intense washing to clean items quickly.
The fabric manufacturer recommends a 30 degree cycle. They don't get dirty so a quick 15 minute wash should suffice. Obviously we don't condone using the washing machine for just one or two lightweight towels, for environmental and financial reasons.
All of the agitation and soaking during a longer washing cycle doesn't chew up much electricity. But the rapid hot wash, in the dishwasher or washing machine, will devour more electricity, so a cold and long wash is still more efficient.
Normal. The normal cycle is a vigorous wash cycle due to its high agitation and lengthy cycle. This cycle uses warm water with a high spin speed for moderately soiled clothing made of cotton, linen, and other mixed fabrics. Depending on your machine, a normal cycle can run up to an hour.
Why are washing machine cycles so long? Try washing before 4 p.m. or after 7 p.m. – Many energy companies charge extra for electricity during their “peak hours,” which see increased energy usage. During the summer, run your washer early in the morning – energy use peaks on hot afternoons.
Drainage Hose May be Blocked or Kinked
The most likely cause for a washer to return soaking wet clothes is a drain hose problem. Here is how you should resolve and clean: Clean the filters in the water supply hose. Attention: The leaking water may be very hot with a risk of scalding.
Soaking your clothes will help loosen up the dirt and dissolve fatty stains. Also, it helps soften your clothes, allowing you to use minimum force and prevent damaging them. Moreover, make sure not to soak your laundry for too long, or it might ruin the fabric.
The major difference between delicate and normal wash cycles is agitation or tumbling speed. Compared to normal wash cycles which use higher agitation or tumbling speeds for casual items, delicate wash cleans items using low agitation or tumbling speeds, along with cold water, for gentle cleaning and reduced wrinkling.
The quick wash isn't just quicker than the regular wash, though. You can quickly wash a few clothes without using a lot of energy, in fact, a quick wash can save up to 60% of energy* compared to a regular cotton cycle, and that's not all.
Wash clothes on the shortest cycle (often referred to as "quick wash") that's practical for your needs. This means less water, heated to a lower temperature and a shorter spin cycle to save water and energy. Bonus - this cycle causes less damage to your clothes over time so helps them last longer.
One big plus of a speed wash is that it's often an energy-saver, which makes it the more sustainable choice. By using less energy, a quick wash will also save you money, too. But a quick wash isn't the best option if you need to wash stained clothes.
