Freezer Temperature is Above 10 Degrees F (-12 C) Whenever your ice maker stops working, check the temperature of the freezer. If the freezer temperature is above 10 degrees F (-12 C) the ice maker will not work properly. It functions best when the freezer temperature is set between 0 and 5 degrees F (-18 to -15 C).
This usually is due to the water filter being clogged or a restricted water supply. It is recommended to change the water filter first but if the condition still occurs then you want to check for a saddle valve, a water valve not turned on all the way or a kinked water supply line.
To be sure the control arm is the problem, do a full Frigidaire ice maker reset. Depending on your model, you can perform a hard reset on your ice maker using the control panel. Hold the on/off button until the LED is red. Wait a couple of minutes and then hold the same button until it's green.
The most common reasons your Frigidaire refrigerator icemaker is not making but water works are a malfunctioning icemaker assembly, faulty water valve or a defective electronic control board.
To begin the ice-making process, a timer triggers the water valve, which fills the ice mold with water.
Check the water fill tubes

If your ice maker isn't producing ice at all or is producing crescents or cubes that are smaller than usual, it's typically indicative of a clog somewhere along the supply line. Cause: A common cause for a clog is frozen water in the line. Fix: To repair a frozen line, slide the refrigerator and unplug it.
It's possible that Ice may be jammed. Ice could have melted and frozen around the auger due to infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, and/or power outages. Remove the ice bin, thaw and empty contents. Clean the ice bin (wipe/dry) and replace in proper position.
If the water line is clogged, it can usually be cleaned out by running vinegar and baking soda through the line. Clogs are likely to occur if there is a flaw in the water line or if the water filter is not updated.
Common Frigidaire Ice Maker Problems and Solutions
Ensure the ice maker is turned on. Check connection to water line, no kinks or blockages, and ensure water valve is open. Replace the filter if older than six months. Set freezer temperature to 0°F (-18°C) or lower.
Check to ensure the ice maker is turned ON – the LED light on your display for the ice maker will be illuminated. Before making ice for the 1st time – be sure to prime the water supply system.
If your ice maker is not dropping ice, it could be that there's a blockage in the ice tray, or an ice cube is jammed between the bin and the lever. If this happens, here are some things you can do: Double-check that the lever is pushed down and/or the ice maker is switched on.
If the water inlet valve is defective, or if it has insufficient pressure, it won't allow water to flow through. As a result, the ice maker won't make ice. The valve requires at least 20 psi to function properly. Make sure that the water pressure to the valve is at least 20 psi.
Several problems can interfere with making ice properly or dispensing ice. The ice maker or dispenser could be jammed or broken, a dirty water filter or kinked water line could be blocking water flow or the water inlet valve could be clogged or faulty.
Reset the Ice Maker
More manual models without a control panel may require simply that you raise the fill-bar and lower it. You can also cut power to the fridge or ice maker and then restore power to attempt a reset. Resetting the ice maker returns it to default settings and a default program.
As the ice melts or is scooped out, the ice level drops away from the thermostatic bulb. When the bin control sensor measures the rise in temperature, it signals to the ice maker to start the freeze and harvest cycles again.
After you have installed your refrigerator it will take 6 to 12 hours for the fridge-freezer's ice maker to produce ice. You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker dispenses (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure that all the ice cubes you use are made from clean water.
If you don't hear a chime, but you can see movement from the ice maker, then the ice maker was reset. If you don't hear a chime and there is no movement from the ice maker, unplug the fridge or turn it off at the circuit breaker for 2 minutes. Then, power it back up and try again.
Once the line is disconnected, pour 3-4 cups of vinegar with a small funnel into the line and let it soak for 5-10 minutes, clipping shut the open end of the line to avoid the vinegar from draining out. Rinse out the line with clean water before reconnecting the dispenser and ice maker.
If your freezer is too full, the icemaker may not start until your freezer reaches the correct temperature. This can cause slow ice production. If no ice is being made or is formed incorrectly, check that your fridge is level, this can adversely affect the flow of air and water, preventing ice from forming correctly.
