If your Outdoor Camera is not responding, it's likely due to either a low or dead battery or the camera is unable to connect to Wi-Fi. Please note that SimpliSafe® systems and cameras require 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.
As a first troubleshooting step, I would recommend resetting your Outdoor Camera if you haven't already. This can be done by pressing and holding the pairing button on the back for 30 seconds. Once you release it, you will be prompted to set it back up in the SimpliSafe mobile app.
Locate the pairing button on the top of your SimpliCam®. Press and hold this button for 20 seconds. When you release the button, the SimpliCam® will begin to reboot.
Make sure to check that all connections, cables, and power is intact and tightly connected. If your security cameras are wireless, check the internet and make sure that it is connected successfully to the WiFi. You can also check if the router is properly working.
If the Test Mode step does not work, your sensor may have been offline for too long. The best step would be to remove the sensor from the SimpliSafe® App and then add it back to your system.
There is some temporary issue with the camera app or a new bug. You have turned off camera access on your phone by mistake. Another app has not been allowed camera access. Worst case scenario – your camera hardware has physical damage.
Unplug the Camera and Reconnect It with the Power Source
If your power is working but the security camera is still offline, try plugging it into a different outlet. Also, if it's a battery-powered camera, check to see if the battery needs to be charged or replaced.
Simply unplug the power cord to your Base Station and, while unplugged, remove a battery (you'll need a screwdriver to get to the battery compartment). Wait a few seconds, and then put the battery back in and plug in the power cord - the Base Station will then come back on.
Note that the little red light beneath the LED is the infrared sensor, which is activated at night. The privacy shutter will still prevent the camera from recording if it's closed, even if the infrared sensor is on.
If you sprang for a SimpliSafe professional monitoring plan, it's a different story. Your subscription includes cellular failover. When the internet goes out, LTE service switches on. That means comms are online.
If your CCTV camera has no video signal, there are likely issues with the power supply, loose or damaged cables, or incorrect camera settings.

Restart your router and/or mesh accent points and Wi-Fi extenders. Try bringing your Outdoor Camera and Base Station closer together, as too far a distance between them can weaken the Outdoor Camera's connection to your system and cause this error.
Why do my security cameras go black? Video loss on one or all security cameras is often attributed to an inadequate power supply. The primary reasons for this issue include loose cable connections, a malfunctioning PoE injector, or defective power cables.
Make sure Camera access is turned on. Note: If camera access for the device is turned off and greyed out, you'll need an administrator on the device to turn on camera access for you. Make sure Let apps access your camera is turned on. Choose which apps should have access.
Restart your computer in Safe Mode.
If you open your webcam in Safe Mode and it still displays a black screen, try updating its drivers. If the webcam works in Safe Mode, a startup program is a likely culprit. Try disabling startup programs like antivirus suites and social tools like Slack or Steam.
This process can take a few minutes. You might notice the camera's lights blinking or hear a chime indicating that the reset is in progress. Once the reset is complete, the camera will return to its default settings.
