Why is FrogTape not sticking to my walls? If you have recently painted your walls, this usually indicates that the paint has not fully cured. Stretching the tape as you apply it can also cause it to lift off of the wall. It can also mean that the surface was not properly prepared.
Make sure that the surface is clean and dry before applying tape. If there is any dirt or grease on the surface, it will prevent the tape from sticking properly. To clean your surface, start by washing it with rubbing alcohol. Make sure to dry it thoroughly afterwards with a soft cloth.
Run a damp cloth over the edges of the tape to activate PaintBlock Technology for sharp paint lines. Take your time to avoid stretching the tape — this can cause poor adhesion to the surface and cause paint bleed.

Conditions that are near freezing can cause adhesives to harden to the point where they refuse to stick. Additionally, your business may require bonding tapes rated for extreme temperatures if substrates travel through a heat chamber. Adhesive tapes do have a shelf life.
Ideally, the surface must be clean, dry, and oil free. When in doubt, wash the surface with rubbing alcohol and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tapes have a sturdy construction and a water-based adhesive that can stand up to rainy weather. It is not recommended to apply tape to a damp or wet surface, but once applied the tape should stick to the surface if it rains.
Higher temperatures will make adhesive too soft and almost useless. On the other hand, lower temperatures will maintain the adhesive too hard to connect to another surface, so tape won't stick! But, what to do is the surface is cold? Simply warm up the tape and use it then.
How long after I paint can I leave FrogTape® on my walls/trim? FrogTape® Multi-Surface and FrogTape® for Gloss and Satin Paints during preparation can be removed without leaving a residue from most surfaces for up to 21 days (7 days in direct sun).
In a word, YES. Using Frog Tape really does make a world of difference in the ease of the painting process. Despite the under the breath grumblings heard by old school painters around the globe, frog tape has “reinvented the wheel” of painter's tape in the best way possible.
Moist or humid air might be the cause. Open windows and doors to allow air to move. Wash the surface completely with water, using a rag and bucket. Allow plenty of time for the surface to dry, or use a fan or hair dryer.
To make stickers sticky again, you can apply spray adhesive or rubber cement on the back of your old stickers. Let them air dry and then reapply the sticker onto your desired surface.
At the moment of application: The reaction that takes place as an adhesive sets is influenced by temperature; a higher temperature will speed up the reaction, which means that labels applied at higher temperatures will usually have better adhesion than those applied at lower temperatures.
Humidity can and will affect the adhesion of your tape. Higher humidity in particular can result in a layer of moisture developing on surfaces, which can weaken a tape's ability to adhere to surfaces. Lower humidity can dry out the adhesive as well as increase the amount of dust in the air.
The wetting establishes the adhesion while the van der Waal's forces increase the strength of the adhesion. Wetting is the mechanism through which the solid adhesives penetrate the adhering surface before the van der Waal bonds can make the adhesion stronger.
One common issue is the use of subpar quality tape. Low-quality tape can result in a poor adhesive bond and an uneven application, leaving your tape-in extensions sagging or falling out. Additionally, your hair might not be properly clean or prepped, resulting in a poor adhesion surface for the tape.
So first, Frog Tape is special. She told me it has a built-in powdered gel adhesive (or something) that is activated when wet and makes the tape seal to your walls so no paint can seep in! If you're lucky, while you're painting this will get activated as you go.
A: I usually remove the frog tape approximately 90 minutes - 2 hours after I've applied the first coat. I find if I leave the frog tape on until the paint has fully dried, the edges of the line are not so sharp.
