Your water filter cartridge needs to be replaced. Tube fitting at the bottom (RSG* Model) is wrongly installed. Water tank inside of the fridge compartment is frozen. To clear air out of your water line, press the water dispenser lever for one or two minutes.
Air may be trapped in the water system after replacing the filter. Press the dispenser cradle for at least 5 minutes to purge any air from the water lines.
Find out if the inside water filter on your refrigerator is properly installed. If the water filter is not connected or inserted well, the water dispenser may not work. Make sure the water filter is locked in place properly. A clogged water filter is often a culprit of poor water pressure.
Reset Water Filter Pad
After you change the water filter, press and hold the the RESET WATER FILTER button for 3 seconds until the red light goes off. On some models the light goes out and on others it will turn green; either is considered normal.
Samsung fridges that don't have a dedicated reset button can usually be reset using a standard key combination. Press and hold the Power Cool and Power Freeze buttons simultaneously for five seconds. If the reset has worked, you'll hear a chime, and the fridge will start back up with the default settings.
However, Samsung fridges with external filters almost always have to have the water shut off before the filters are swapped out or changed over.
If no water is flowing from your bottled water cooler or dispenser, there are generally two main causes: either the reservoir has become frozen, or the air filter is water-saturated due to a leaky bottle or dirty.
Inspect Your Supply Line
Water can't reach your dispenser if the supply line is clogged, kinked, frozen, or disconnected. Make sure your fridge is properly connected to your home water line, then look at the supply lines on the back of the refrigerator to ensure they are not kinked, crushed, or clogged.
If the water filter was just replaced or installed, ensure the filter was installed correctly. If the water filter is not seated properly, it can cause; no or low ice production and water not dispensing properly. Try removing the water filter and re-installing it.
The water filter valve is clogged or damaged.
Additionally, the valve can become clogged due to accumulated dirt or debris, or from small errors during installation, leading to decreased lifespan and performance. To address this issue, you may need to replace the valve.
If this is the case, you just need to reset the indicator light by pressing and holding the button with "Hold 3 sec for filter reset" on it. Important: If the light is already off or blue the indicator light does not need to be reset.
Reset your refrigerator
Follow the instructions below depending on your model and what you would like to reset: Reset your refrigerator: First, unplug it (or turn off the power at the circuit breaker), and then wait about five minutes for the electrical charge to clear out of it. Then, power it back on again.
First, locate the control panel on the front of the fridge. Look for the buttons labeled “Power Freeze” and “Power Cool.” Press and hold both buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds until you hear a chime sound. This will reset the refrigerator and clear any error codes.
The main cause for water not flowing through a filter after installation, is because there may be air caught somewhere in the water line to the fridge.
The steps to replacing a twist-in filter are as follows: Unplug the refrigerator. This may seem like an obvious step, but you should always turn off the power to any electrical appliance before working on it.
Locate the reset button, usually found beneath the status light on the control panel. Press and hold the button for three seconds or until you hear a beep or chirp. Once the appliance makes a noise, you can release the button and close your fridge.
If the water line is clogged, it can usually be cleaned out by running vinegar and baking soda through the line. Clogs are likely to occur if there is a flaw in the water line or if the water filter is not updated.
Frozen Tank or Tubing
The water reservoir tank or tubing could be frozen. If frozen, you would get water to the icemaker but not the dispenser. The water reservoir tank or tubing is typically located behind the vegetable drawers or on the left side of the fresh food compartment.
