If it's very cold outside, the water may not warm enough to dissolve the pod quickly and activate the detergent during the wash. It might be worth trying a slightly warmer temperature than usual if it's a chilly day and you're doing a short wash!

Faulty Dispenser or Dispenser Blockage
The detergent dispenser in your dishwasher may be faulty or malfunctioning. If the pod is not opened or released appropriately during the wash cycle, the pod won't dissolve as intended. Inspect the dispenser for damage or obstructions.
A few more facts: You can use Tide Coldwater with colors and whites, delicates and jeans and towels. You can also use it just fine with hot or warm water if you so chose.
Topical exposure of a ruptured detergent pod may cause chemical burns to the eyes and skin. Eyes are particularly sensitive to the chemical irritation of the detergent pod contents. Plus, breaking open a pod under pressure can release and propel the contents into the eye.
If the water is extremely cold or you place the Tide pod on top of the dirty laundry, it may not dissolve correctly. Always place the pod in an empty washer drum before you load the dirty laundry. Consider using warm water for the load or dissolve the pod in a quart of hot water first.
