Check Your Aerator
If you have especially hard water, aerators become clogged with hard water buildup, a common cause of low water pressure in kitchen fixtures. Clean your aerator for a quick and easy DIY fix. Remove the aerator from the faucet using pliers and a towel (to prevent scratching).
Sediments, mineral deposits, or small debris can clog the aerator over time, which results in low water pressure. To restore water flow due to a clogged aerator, use pliers to remove the aerator from the faucet, scrub it with an old toothbrush and rinse in water.
If the kitchen is the only tap with low pressure, it's time to consider the potential causes of low water pressure in a kitchen sink so you can determine what might be causing it, and fix it. The most common causes of low water pressure in a kitchen sink are a clogged aerator or a clogged cartridge.
Damaged washers reduce your tap's water supply to a trickle, before stopping it completely. If your tap starts producing only a trickle of water, you should consider replacing your washer. Similarly, if excessive whistling or chattering noises are coming from your tap, this is usually caused by a dislodged washer.
If you've cleaned the aerator and the water flow is still weak, there may be a clog in the pipes. As time goes by, mineral deposits build up in your pipes. This will slow water flow and, eventually, may even cause your pipes to burst. Now is a good time to call in a professional plumber.
Signs that a cartridge faucet needs repair are water dripping from the spout, difficulty in adjusting the water temperature, hot water entering cold water outlets like toilet supply lines and inadequately heated water at some faucets.

A Clogged Cartridge
This device has an important job — when you lift or turn the faucet handle, the cartridge is responsible for opening valves and letting the water flow into your sink. If there's a problem with the cartridge — such as a blockage — you're likely to encounter low water pressure.
Since the EPA limits water flow at 2.2 gpm, most modern faucets now come with a pre-installed aerator that limits the flow to 2.2 gpm while also infusing the water stream with air to reduce splashing.
Indoor faucets usually have aerators at the tip. This small but valuable part consists of a mesh responsible for the consistent water flow. Since it controls water pressure, it reduces water splashing in the sink.
Chances are, it's air traveling around and out of your plumbing. Look at Water Quality – If your hot water is cloudy and sputtering, it's likely another sign that air bubbles have entered your plumbing. Inspect for Leaks – It's also possible that a slow leak is affecting the water pressure.
Please keep in mind that all new faucets since 1994 are restricted to conserve water per EPA code mandates. Older faucets had no restrictions. Beyond intentional flow restriction, new installations can sometimes have reduced flow if the lines are not flushed prior to installation of aerators or shower heads.
Rust or buildup

This causes the faucet to function improperly, commonly leading to water leaks and difficulty operating the handles.
