Conair, which originated as a personal care appliance company, in 1989 acquired Cuisinart, growing the kitchen product business into a leading brand of premium small appliances, cookware and other kitchen products.
It is majority-owned by private equity firm American Securities, with some minority stakes held by family members of founder Leandro Rizzuto.
Cuisinart prices vary, though it's one of the most reasonably priced brands out there. For example, the 12-piece aluminum non-stick set is $240, while the 5-ply stainless steel 10-piece set is $430.
If you're looking for a non-stick cookware set that is less expensive, check out the Cuisinart GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized. However, the Calphalon Premier is still our top recommendation and performed better than the Cuisinart GreenGourmet in every other metric.

A: Cuisinart products are primarily made in France and China. Helpful?
A: These machines look identical except for the brand name embossed on the waffle grid covers. Cuisinart and Waring are both owned by Conair and it is interesting to note that the Waring model seems to have been discontinued; guessing this is the replacement.
Based on our data team's research, Sanjay Lapalikar is the Cuisinart's CEO. Cuisinart has 101 employees, of which 8 are in a leadership position.
Lodge is known for its American-manufactured cookware, but Viking and Finex also make cast iron here. Carbon Steel: Carbon steel is similar to cast iron in that it's specialty and is usually seasoned. However, the fact that the material is much more rigid means that it can be thinner and, therefore, lighter.
KitchenAid is in Michigan, but the product is manufactured in China. (Oh well.) It may be hard to find such an appliance not manufactured in China, even harder to find one made in the USA. This processor is okay, not great : where the bowl connects to the body, there's a little part that falls out.

Our Verdict
The Ninja performs better for most uses, including smoothly blending fibrous ingredients, crushing ice, and making nut butter. It has more blending programs and comes with three jars instead of just one. However, it's very loud, while the Cuisinart is significantly quieter.
Cuisinart is the best option for variety, large capacity, and working with traditional beans, ground or whole. Keurig remains the single-serve master with a more compact, friendly design, and has far better options for smart features if you're interested.
