They also note that there have been two class action lawsuits filed over the alleged LG compressor defect, both of which resulted in settlements that excluded Kenmore refrigerators.
Class Action Says Compressor Defect May Be to Blame. A proposed class action alleges certain Kenmore refrigerators sold in the last decade are equipped with a defective linear compressor that can cause the inside of the fridge to fall below a safe food-storing temperature.
