Opening and Closing Vertical Blinds
Each individual blind vane is attached to a sliding piece that is inserted into the track that runs along the headrail of the blinds. When you pull the blind wand open or closed, the blinds slide in unison one way or the other on the track.
The blind wand or cord is connected to a mechanism that causes the axle that runs along the headrail to turn. This axle is also attached to small gears that connect to each slat and as the axle turns, it twists the gears and opens or closes the slats to more light.

For maximum privacy, mount the blinds above the window frame and extend them past the sides and bottom of the frame. Light bleed around the blinds is decreased with the extra width and length. If necessary, shim the blind bracket out so the blind falls freely.
We recommend adding between 3” to 6” to your width measurement. Also add 2 ½” to your height measurement to allow enough room for the mounting brackets above the opening. Our suggested floor clearance is ½” to 1”.
Split stack vertical blinds open from the center and open to each side leaving a stack of vertical blinds on each side.
