Transition strips are often used if there's a step up or down between doors that open to the outside and their adjacent spaces. In the transition between rooms when there is a door present. Between rooms where the flooring material changes.
The transitions are really only necessary when changing flooring types. So floating planks to carpet, or tile, etc. If you are concerned about swelling, don't put them right to the walls but have them have a small gap. Something your baseboard will cover though. But that should allow for any movement of the floor.

In general, the gap beneath an interior door will be between three-quarters of an inch and half an inch. This width depends largely on the type of flooring, as door frames are generally installed when the floor is unfinished. A standard door can have varying levels of clearance over different flooring types.
Each tack strip should butt up to each other, end to end. Install tack strips so they wrap around door frames. Don't place tack strips across the openings of the doors, though. You don't want to step on the sharp points of the tack strips.
You can put crown molding in any room — it's more about the architectural design of the space than its function. Additionally, incorporating crown molding isn't an all-or-nothing decision. Some people add crown molding to every room, but you can also install it in some rooms and not others.
T-Moldings are used to fill the gap between two floors of equal height. Install the flooring leaving a 1-1/8” gap between the two floors for the t-molding installation. Center the track between the flooring leaving a 1/4” spacing between the track and floor planks.
These small, wooden separators can come loose due to poor adhesion or regular wear and tear. This is a common problem, but luckily, our friend Omar (@justaconstructionguy) has a quick fix using Loctite® PL PREMIUM MAX. You can find Loctite construction adhesives at your local hardware store or homecenter.
The strip should be positioned under the door so that it's hidden from view when shut, guaranteeing that only one type of floor covering is visible from either side. If the strip is broader than the door, it should extend into the doorway instead of into the room, ensuring it isn't an eyesore or a tripping hazard.
Understanding transition strips
Transition strips play a vital role in bridging laminate flooring between different rooms. These strips come in various materials, such as wood, metal, or plastic, and are designed to provide a smooth transition.
Should you put transition strips in doorways? There is no need to put transition strips in the doorways of each room if the same flooring is being used in the rooms. However, if there is a transition, like a hardwood bedroom to a tile bathroom, you should put a transition strip in the doorway.
If you're transitioning from one hardwood to another, you could also opt for a seam binder instead of a transition strip. Seam binders are like regular wood floor planks that run along the edge of your flooring.
Transition strips are used when you are joining together two different sections of a building, like offices and a hallway or an open area where flooring types change.
You should not install crown molding on cathedral or vaulted ceilings or in rooms connecting to another room with a varying ceiling height.
Crown molding should never be installed in rooms with a ceiling height of less than 8 feet. A low ceiling accentuated with trim will make the room feel smaller than it is.
If you use crown molding that is the appropriate width and the same color as or a lighter color than the room, it will generally make the room seem taller and larger.
A doorway floor transition sits between the door jambs on the floor, helping to create a safer and more aesthetically pleasing transition from one flooring type to the next.
Using a hammer, nail down tack strips around the perimeter of the room. Cut the 1-inch-wide strips to length using a small handsaw or special wood snips. Set the tack strip about 1/2 inch away from the baseboard to allow space for slipping the carpeting underneath.
Door Threshold Installation
Slide the threshold underneath the doorstops and position the notches cut to fit around the door jambs. Tap it snugly into position using a rubber mallet. The threshold should slope slightly away from your home so that water will not pool at your doorway.
The main reason the gap exists is to keep the door from scraping your floor. After all, flooring is expensive!
Thresholds are essential to: Isolate rooms from noise (or alternatively, a rubber seal can be installed). Maintain desired temperatures within rooms. Prevent the intrusion of dust, dirt, water, and odors from hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, or pantries into other living spaces.
