The silence (or "hush") button on a First Alert smoke detector is located directly on the front or center cover of the unit. It typically doubles as the Test button.
Press and release the Test/Silence button or use the app (if using the app to silence the warning you will need to be within Bluetooth range of the detector). The horn will chirp, acknowledging that the End-of-Life Silence Feature has been activated.

If – after checking for battery placement, debris and environmental issues – your smoke detector is still bleeping then try resetting it. Hold down the test button for 15-30 seconds then test your smoke detector in the usual way. Hopefully, the beeping will have now stopped.
Pressing the hush button on ANY unit will silence the ENTIRE network. If you have interlinking Ei Electronics smoke alarms, only the originating unit's hush button will be able to silence the ENTIRE network. The other units in the circuit can be individually silenced.
