A connection between a vent pipe and a vent stack or stack vent shall be made not less than 6 inches (152 mm) above the flood level rim of the highest fixture served by the vent. The document states that the opening of ventilation pipes should be located at least 900mm above any building within three metres of the pipe. The vent will also need to be protected with a wire cage or perforated to prevent debris or birds from entering it.
Vent and branch vent pipes shall be free from drops and sags and be sloped and connected so as to drain by gravity to the drainage system. Every vent shall rise vertically to a minimum of 6 inches above the flood level of the rim of the fixture being served.

The international code for vents require a minimum of 6” extension above the roof. The codes in the USA are normally equal from state to state and require them to be 12 inches above the roof.
Extensions of vent pipes through a roof shall be terminated at least 2 feet above the roof surface and shall be properly flashed. Where the roof is used for any purpose other than weather protection, the vent pipe shall extend at least 7 feet above the roof surface and shall be properly supported.
A universally accepted guideline for roof ventilation is the 1/150 ventilation rule. According to this rule, a roof must have ventilation that is at least one square foot for every 150 square feet of attic or crawl space. A minimum of 13.3 square feet of ventilation is needed for a 2,000-square-foot attic.
MINIMUM GAS VENT HEIGHT
A minimum gas vent height of 5 feet above the appliance draft hood is required (see Fig. 8).
According to Home Inspection Insider, floor vents need anywhere from six to 12 inches of space in all directions to ensure airflow. Your floor vent needs space on each side and overhead. Allow a minimum of six inches on top, and consider the direction of slats or louvers on your vent as well.
Minimum Height Requirements
In most cases, the vent pipe should extend at least 300mm above the roof's highest point or adjacent windows. This ensures that sewer gases are safely dispersed into the atmosphere, away from occupants and neighbouring properties.

Roof vent pipes are not only exposed to the sun, but also to thunderstorms, rain, snow, and more. Therefore, they are more likely to get damaged before their age. However, to increase their durability by up to 20 years, you may cap the roof pipe vent.
An air admittance valve (AAV) is an alternative option to fitting a vent in a soil pipe – a soil pipe vent if you will. It opens automatically when water enters the soil pipe and closes when the water has passed into the drain.
The most important bit of obvious advice ever: soil and waste pipes need to be on a downhill gradient! The “fall” or “drop” should be between 1/40 (1cm down for every 40cm across) and 1/110. Too steep (1/10) then the water runs quicker than the solids so doesn't wash them away (ugh!).
Foul Odours and Health Concerns
If a soil vent pipe becomes blocked or damaged, foul odours from trapped gases can infiltrate living spaces.
A 1-inch clearance (air space) to combustible materials must be maintained, when using DuraVent Round B-Vent, regardless of the pipe diameter. at least 2 feet higher than an adjacent wall or obstruction, if it is within 8 feet.
Unlike a direct vent appliance, a B-vent appliance isn't a sealed system, so it draws combustion air from the room into the combustion chamber. Exhaust then goes out through the roof via a single double-wall pipe, the outer layer of which acts as a heat insulator.
For example, a 6-inch (152 mm) diameter Type B vent must extend above a simple gabled roof only 1 foot (305 mm) for roofs having up to 6/12 pitch, if the terminal is not within 8 feet (2438 mm) of a vertical surface such as an upper-story exterior wall.

A soil vent pipe must always terminate above the property's roofline and be at least 900mm higher than any window or opening within 3 meters of the pipe.
