The best SCANPAN line depends on your cooking needs, but the CS+ and TechnIQ lines are widely considered the top choices for home cooks and professionals.
The STS range uses the same cooking base as the Scanpan Impact in a newly designed shape, the STS handles are larger and very comfortable to hold, particularly if you've got a full saucepan.
Gordon Ramsay, known for his high standards in the kitchen, is associated with both HexClad and ScanPan cookware.
Overall: Scanpan vs HexClad. Scanpan is great for smooth, safe, easy cooking. HexClad is great for high heat, strong sears, and long use. Both pans work well, but they serve different styles.
CS+ has a micro-textured surface for incredible searing and is compatible with all cooktops. The PRO S+ Series combines our lightweight cast aluminum body with ultra-durable commercial-grade nonstick. Our revolutionary STRATANIUM+ nonstick surface is microtextured for incredible searing and unparalleled durability.
Scanpan’s best cookware combines commercial-grade Stratanium+ nonstick with exceptional heat distribution. The premium HaptIQ and the slightly more traditional CS+ lines are the top-rated choices, both metal-utensil safe, oven safe up to 500∘F500 raised to the composed with power F500∘F, and heavily favored for their stainless steel-like searing ability.
If your pan has pits, holes, or peeling, you should stop using it and contact us for a warranty replacement. If your pan has burned, carbonized build up from food and oil residues, we recommend replacing your pan.
Gordon Ramsay exclusively uses and endorses HexClad cookware. He uses their patented hybrid pans—which combine the searing power of stainless steel with the convenience of nonstick surfaces—both in his home kitchen and across his professional restaurants.
Avoid traditional non-stick pans with worn coatings or synthetic "forever chemicals" (PFAS), as well as unlined copper and reactive aluminum. Scratched or overheated pans release toxic fumes or leach heavy metals into your food.
With proper care, Scanpan cookware typically lasts 5 to 7 years, though many users report up to 10+ years of heavy use. While the thick recycled aluminum core and titanium finish will never warp or peel, the non-stick coating will eventually wear out as a result of normal wear and tear.
Bobby Flay collaborated with GreenPan to create a line of high-performance cookware. The collection features diamond-infused ceramic nonstick surfaces, premium stainless steel, and cast iron. His versatile pans are designed for home cooks who want professional-level heat control and worry-free, toxin-free cooking.
Gordon Ramsay was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer. He underwent successful surgery to have the cancerous cells removed from his jawline and used the opportunity to share photos of his stitches and a public service announcement encouraging fans to wear sunscreen.
Expensive: Scanpan is significantly more expensive than most non-stick brands, but it's built to higher quality standards in Denmark. The 5-layer non-stick coating lasts longer than average, around five years. Heavy: Due to the thick walls, Scanpan pans are heavier than the average non-stick pan.
All of our cookware is made in Denmark, except the Impact stainless steel cookware range, which is designed in Denmark and made in China.
STS is the latest stainless steel cookware released by SCANPAN, Australia's favourite cookware brand for more than 30 years. Features include a highly polished exterior and a completely smooth external base for maximum induction connectivity.
Scanpan steel cookware without coating in brief:
We use 18/10 stainless steel for all our steel products. Steel is extremely durable and has a long lifespan.
The healthiest pans to cook with are made from cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, or pure ceramic. These materials are free from toxic synthetic coatings (like PFAS and Teflon) and will not leach harmful chemicals or microplastics into your food when heated.
Here are several signs that will tell you when to throw away stainless steel pans:
The best non-stick pan for eggs is the OXO Good Grips Pro 8-inch or 10-inch Nonstick Skillet. It features a lightweight design for easy flipping, a stay-cool handle, and a thick, multi-layer coating that releases eggs flawlessly. It provides an excellent balance of durability, performance, and affordability.
Professional chefs generally use commercial-grade, unpretentious cookware that can withstand high heat and heavy abuse. Instead of expensive non-stick sets, restaurant kitchens rely on sturdy metals like carbon steel, heavy-duty aluminum, and stainless-clad steel.
HexClad is popular primarily because of its patented hybrid design, which combines the non-stick convenience of Teflon or ceramic pans with the searing ability and durability of stainless steel. Aggressive, high-profile celebrity endorsements have also driven its massive success.
Eggs are likely sticking to your HexClad pan because of a cold pan or missing lubrication. Because HexClad pans use a hybrid stainless steel and non-stick grid, they must be preheated and require a little oil or butter to achieve their non-stick properties.
The "best" Scanpan line depends on your needs, but the HaptIQ is widely considered their top-tier collection, while the CS+ line offers the best everyday value. Both lines feature Scanpan's ultra-durable, metal-utensil-safe Stratanium+ nonstick coating and can be used on induction stovetops.
Before first use
Remove any labels. Wash in hot soapy water with a nylon brush, cloth or sponge and then dry. Never use a metal or other harsh scourer nor harsh powder to clean your cookware. Ensure the cookware is completely dried before storage.
If your Scanpan is sticking, it is usually caused by invisible, baked-on oil residue, incorrect preheating, or using aerosol cooking sprays. Sticking can typically be resolved with a deep clean and by adjusting your cooking habits.
