The best way to make a ceramic tile floor shine is by using a simple soap and water solution for cleaning! Add a generous squirt of dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water and mop the floors vigorously. Next, rinse with a clean, damp mop.
Mix a mild detergent with hot water and apply with a rag or chamois mop instead of a sponge mop. A sponge mop pushes dirty water into the grout and soils it. Change the bucket of cleaning solution often so you won't have a dirty mop that leaves a cloudy film of dirt on the floor.
Apply a commercial ceramic tile cleaner, or use white vinegar, to keep your tiles clean.
For particularly tough stains, try mixing a solution of 25% bleach and 75% baking soda in a cup. Always test the solution on a small section of your ceramic tile before you tackle the mold.
What is the best tile cleaner? For the most effective deep cleaning, always use a PH neutral cleaner, a diluted white vinegar solution and orange oil.
Hydrogen Peroxide Mixture
This mixture works as an effective bleaching agent that can remove dirt and grime from your tiles, while the liquid soap helps dissolve grease. To create this cleaning solution, mix one part hydrogen peroxide, three parts baking soda, and one tablespoon of liquid soap to create a paste.
White vinegar is an acidic solution that can etch or corrode some tiles, particularly those made from natural stone or unglazed ceramic. The acid in white vinegar can also weaken and deteriorate certain grouts over time, particularly if the grout is already damaged or in poor condition.
It's simple. If you use baking soda on your ceramic hob alone, you will scratch it. That being said, if you use it in combination with vinegar as we showed you in our guide, your ceramic hob will be absolutely fine and scratch-free.
CLEANING METHODS
Never use a dishwasher for valued ceramics, and avoid using household bleaches or strong cleaning agents. Instead, dampen a cotton wool swab in warm water with a little detergent (no more than a few drops per litre of water). Gently roll the swabs over the porcelain, and refrain from scrubbing.

Baking soda acts as a scouring solution and can get under deeply set dirt buildups. Mix about a cup of warm water with a few tablespoons of baking soda to make a paste, and then use a damp cloth to apply it to your tile.
Pine-Sol is safe for ceramic tile; however, it can eat away at grout between those tiles! In turn, avoid diluting Pine-Sol in a bucket and using it over the entire floor. Instead, make up a small mixture and dab it on dirty areas with a rag. Afterward, ensure you rinse all the Pine-Sol off the floor.
While bleach can effectively clean grout and tiles, its harsh chemicals can also cause damage over time. Additionally, if left on the tiles for too long, bleach can cause stains and discoloration.
DISINFECTANTS FOR CERAMIC, PORCELAIN, GLASS & QUARTZ
Many disinfectants can be used on these materials, due to their resistance to common household chemicals. 70% Isopropyl alcohol, diluted bleach or 3% hydrogen peroxide can be used.
Apply cream of tartar and vinegar.
Then, spoon some of the mixture onto the stains on your ceramic. Let this sit for about 10 minutes, and wipe clean with a sponge. This method will also work if you substitute hydrogen peroxide for the vinegar.
Fill the pan halfway with water and bring it to a near-boil for about 2 minutes. Pour out the water and place the pan on a sturdy, flat surface. Carefully use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the warm pan, and any residual carbon should clean up quickly.
For cleaning new home ceramics, spray hydrogen peroxide on the ceramics and joints. For tougher stains and dirt, you can allow the solution to sit on the surface for a while, usually a few minutes. Gently clean the surface with a sponge or brush.
Deep Cleaning Techniques
Here's how to do that without damaging the coating of your pan. Mix together a 1:1 ratio (we suggest roughly 2 tablespoons each) of white vinegar and baking soda, then gently scrub with a sponge or dishcloth to create a paste.
Fill a bucket with hot water, a half cup of vinegar and a half tablespoon of dish soap. Don't use too much soap, or the soapy residue will make your floors look dull. Before you mop, rinse out the mophead under hot running water to remove any debris from last time you used it. Mop the tile floors with the soapy water.
Do not use products containing acid or ammonia as they will damage your grout. Products containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide should not be used on tile with colored grout. Always rinse with clean water to remove any cleaning solution residue.
Why Does This Work? Mixing equal parts baking soda and hydrogen peroxide for cleaning is a good way to fight stains. It's even used to help remove stains on teeth. This power cleaning duo can be used for more than tile stains, too.
