For heavy items (e.g., TVs, radiators, or cabinets) on dot and dab walls, the best fixing is a bridging anchor like Corefix Connect or Rigifix. They use a metal tube or core to bridge the gap between the plasterboard and the brick behind, transferring weight directly to the wall without crushing the board.
For heavy stuff on dot & dab I like to use either the Corefix fitting or for complete peace of mind a wall bolt (shield anchor). The Corefix fixings are great for things like kitchen cupboards, bookcases and other items of furniture.
