Normal Wash Cycle
Typically, this cycle washes dishes in water heated between 130–140°F. Use the normal wash cycle for daily, regular or typical use to wash and dry a full load of dishes that don't have baked on messes.
Express/Quick/1-Hour Wash
Like the sensor-based Automatic cycle, the one-hour wash cycle also comes with various names. This cycle has one goal, getting your dishes clean as quickly as possible. It's your go-to when you've forgotten to run the wash and need clean plates ASAP.
If you are concerned with saving energy, the slower wash of an eco-mode is the best option to use. It really does save a lot of energy compared to a quick-wash mode. If you are in a rush, the quick-wash mode is the better option.
Eco mode is the perfect choice if you are looking to minimise your energy consumption. The numbers speak for themselves. However, for sparkling results for your dishes and the environment, you should select the program according to the load and how dirty the dishes are.
You Shouldn't Always Use It
The quick wash cycle should only be used for light stains and soiling, if your shirt smells a bit musty or has some light stains then a quick wash will do the job. But for more stubborn stains and bulky clothing, a quick wash simply won't do the job.

High-grade commercial washing machines at a laundromat have the efficiency to deep clean clothes in shorter wash cycles. So, you can be assured that your clothes will come out clean after a quick wash. However, the quick wash cycle isn't meant to clean clothes with ground- dirt or heavy stains.
First, it may be due to your dishes. If your dishes are especially dirty, the dishwasher sensors will default to a longer wash cycle to ensure they're cleaned properly. If you have hard water, limescale or mineral buildup, this could interfere with sensors and cause them to default to a longer setting.
The 1-hour wash, sometimes called Quick Wash, is great for quickly washing a load of lightly soiled essentials you may need in a hurry. It typically uses higher temperature and more water than the normal cycle to get the job done.
Dishwashers can use between 1200-2400 watts, with the average dishwasher uses only about 1800 watts per cycle.

Note: For fire safety reasons, only run appliances like dishwashers while you're home and try to avoid running them when you're sleeping. If you're not a night owl, consider running the machine early in the morning before you go to work to still snag the cost savings.
But consider that the quick wash setting actually uses more water than the regular setting. So if you're looking to be more eco-friendly, the regular wash setting should be the most regularly used setting.

While you can wash dishes in cold water and soap to get them relatively clean, especially if you efficiently scrub them, in general it is better to use hot dishwashing water. Among other benefits, hot water can clean and sanitize dishes better than cold water can.

Alternatively, you can create a sanitizing solution of one tablespoon unscented chlorine bleach in one gallon of water. Be sure to soak the dishware for a full minute before rinsing thoroughly.

SELECTING WASHING MACHINE SETTINGS
If you are battling a super heavy or extra soiled load, cycles that use more water might be beneficial, and some washing machines include settings for soil level. Longer cycles or those with higher water levels may increase the energy and water usage.
