Troubleshoot or connect a C wire
Remove the thermostat display and make sure that the C wire is fully inserted then turn the power back on. If the C wire still isn't getting power, we recommend contacting a Pro. On your thermostat, check for codes that can help you understand what's wrong.
Do all Smart Thermostats Require a C-Wire? Though all smart thermostats can use a C-wire and arguably may be more reliable with the use of one, not all smart thermostats require a C-wire to function. Some models, such as Google Nest, are designed to work even if your home doesn't have a C-wire.

If you only use the heater core, and not the A/C condenser also, the air will be hot, but likely moist, and it won't defrost or defog the interior of the car. So the car must use the A/C condenser to first remove the moisture.
The easiest way to know if your system already uses a common wire is to remove the faceplate of your thermostat and check if any wire is connected to the C-terminal. If the terminal is empty, you have the following five options when installing your thermostat.

The recommended rule of thumb for summertime is to set the temperature to 78 degrees Fahrenheit when you're home and higher when you're away. In general, set it to 82 degrees Fahrenheit when you're asleep and 85 degrees Fahrenheit when you're away.
A/C Button
