Arachnologists are primarily responsible for classifying arachnids and studying aspects of their biology. In the popular imagination, they are sometimes referred to as spider experts.

Arachnologists are people who study spiders and/or other arachnids. You don't have to have a degree just to study spiders, although it probably would help. I myself just collect and don't really study them, observe would probably be a better word. But the term still applies for many people on here.
