Schlage Privacy Emergency Key
This key is designed to open a privacy function from the exterior side of the door. All Schlage Privacys have a hole on the exterior side of the knob or lever to allow this tool to unlock the lock in the case of an emergency. These are factory original emergency keys.
The SecureKey is a user-rekeyable lock made by Schlage. It uses five sliders that interact with a sidebar to provide protection against lockpicking and key bumping. The SecureKey is similar in design, functionality, and name to the Kwikset SmartKey.
Schlage locks with a cylinder, whether a mechanical lock or smart lock, can be keyed alike or rekeyed according to your needs.

The most common Schlage keyway is indicated by the letter C. However, Schlage has several other keyways, including E, F, G and L, and therefore we have many hooks holding Schlage key blanks.
The default programming code is printed on a label on the programming guide that came with your lock. If you do not have access to the guide, remove the lock from the door and look on the back of the lock for a label containing the default code.
Schlage Keyway Types
Schlage uses CNC milling complex keyway shapes to mechanically prevent some non-OEM keys from entering or operating a lock. Schlage keyway types including Primus/Primus XP, Everest, Obverse, Reverse, Numbered or Paracentric, and Quad.
Take Schlage for example. The company manufactures 30,000 different keys.
The SecureKey design provides well over 100,000 possible key combinations, making it 10 times more secure from key duplication than other rekeyable systems on the market, according to Schlage. Rekeying Schlage SecureKey deadbolts and locks is an easy two-step procedure.
The main advantage of a Schlage is that they are made of higher quality parts and materials. This results in a lock that has higher security and longevity but can also come with a high price tag. Kwikset also has a longstanding reputation, and are known for their stylish and modern options.
To lock the door using the keypad, press the Schlage button and rotate the thumbturn away from the door's hinges. Depending on your host's settings, you may also need to enter the user code.
Staff users who have been granted property administrator permissions are automatically granted permission to make master keys, as long as the setting to make master keys is turned on in your property settings.
Schlage's new SecureKey™ cylinder allows you to re-key the lock without ever removing it from the door. If you see a plus sign (+) above the keyway on a Schlage residential lockset, you could say it is a sign of the times.
As you can see in the picture below, Schlage uses 4 security pins (called “Spool pins), while Kwikset uses only 2. Having 2 more security pins in a cylinder can make it significantly harder to pick, which can definitely be felt when trying to pick a Schlage lock.

Schlage locks come with a solid zinc 1-inch bolt. This is larger than many bolts on the market, and it does make a difference in security. It helps to protect against attacks by kicking, sledgehammer and similar impacts.
We cut and ship you Genuine Schlage keys made by the code number stamped on your original Schlage key. There will be a 5 digit number on the back of the key with a small letter C underneath, this is the number we need.
Keys are typically printed with an alphanumeric code called a key identification number, a key code or a key number that allows locksmiths and companies to replicate keys without the need to install a whole new lock system.
Let's begin with 'Keying Alike'. Essentially this is where all locks within a set have the same key code, or in other words, one key can used to open multiple locks within the set. 'Keyed to Differ' is simply where each lock will come with its own key, one which cannot be used on any other locks.
