Preventing Mosquito Bites

Natural Mosquito Predators
Nonenal odor, also known as “old person smell” or “old people smell”, is a harmless scent that is associated with the elderly. It is often described as having a greasy, pungent, and musty odor.
Avoid being outside during peak mosquito hours – Mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk, though specific hours vary by species. Minimize your risk of being bitten by staying indoors or wearing long sleeves and pants if you're outside during these times.
Several primary and secondary accounts have been identified from people who traveled the Gulf Coast between 1750 and 1820 (see Table 1). Take a shower
Mosquitoes are attracted to sweat and other natural body odors. Take a shower before heading outdoors to decrease your natural scent, especially if you've been perspiring. Avoid soaps or liquid cleansers that contain perfumes, since these may attract mosquitoes and other biting insects.
Repelling mosquitoes

The answer is limitless! Female mosquitoes don't stop after one bite; they'll continue feeding until they've taken in enough blood. If interrupted, they'll quickly seek out another host to finish their meal and get the nutrients needed for egg production.
