Pour boiling hot water down the drain. This can dissolve mildew, slime, soap scum, and other similar clogs. Put half a cup of baking soda in the drain, then pour half a cup of vinegar down after it. Let this mixture sit for an hour, and then check the drain.
White vinegar is an acid that breaks down the minerals in soap scum and other buildup, making it easier to remove. Plus, it's an all-natural and cost-effective cleaning solution that can be used in place of harsh chemical cleaners.

It is Extremely Corrosive For Your Drains
When your pipes are clogged, Drano will sit on top of the clog, continually reacting and generating heat until the clog dissolves. This can put a great deal of stress on your drains as the heat can cause PVC pipes to soften and even break or collapse.
Normally, a bar of soap is not big enough to clog up the sewage PVC pipe which is usually 2″ in diameter, a bar of soap could be very slippery, it won't clog up or plug up the toilet, will be dissolved in a day or two if it is accidentally flushed down the toilet.
Greasy clogs can be cleared with dish soap and hot water.
For this method to work, the drain needs to be cleared of water. Squirt dish soap down the clogged drain and then pour boiling water down the drain. Grease is eliminated!
Homemade drain cleaner can break up even the toughest clogs in your sink. Baking soda, vinegar and Dawn dish soap along with boiling water can safely unclog a drain.
Preventative Maintenance
Pouring bleach into the drain when the unit is not operating can leave residual bleach, which will damage the drain pan and line. Using vinegar for preventative maintenance throughout the year will keep your drain clean and clear and will not damage your line.
Although you can use 1/5 to 3/4 of a cup of bleach to clean and deodorize drains, followed by a good flushing of hot water, it will not clear a clog. Bleach is amazing at sanitizing and killing germs, but it won't eat through hair and soap scum that's trapped in the pipes and causing a clog.
It is not a great drain clog remover. Bleach has no effect in dissolving the common culprits of household drain clogs, like hair, food scraps and grease.
But I already had some Dawn dish soap in the house, and the tub is running slow again, so I figured I have nothing to lose by giving it a try. Dish soap certainly won't hurt my pipes.

Pouring boiling water down the drain to unclog it most likely won't work. Sure, there's a very small chance it could loosen the clog, but there's a larger risk of softening or melting PVC joints.
In modern houses some of the drain pipes are PVC plastic, and usually the boiling water will just flow through it without causing any damage. But if it goes through the pipe slowly the PVC could the deform.
