Professional window cleaners use a solution made from dish soap and water to achieve a streak-free clean. The key is to use a small amount of soap and distilled water. Some professionals add ammonia to the water for increased cleaning power.

1The vinegar method
One the easiest – and most environmentally sound – ways to clean your windows is by using good old white vinegar and water. It's non-toxic and naturally sourced. Make your own cleaning solution by simply mixing 50 per cent vinegar and 50 per cent water in a spray bottle.
Distilled White Vinegar and Lemon Juice

Removing Haze From Windows
Instead, use a mixture of diluted vinegar and a few drops of dish soap to clean your windows. Once your windows are crystal clear, keep them that way.
In a spray bottle, combine 2 cups of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, and 5 drops of concentrated dish soap. Give it a good shake to thoroughly mix the ingredients. If you wait too long before performing residential window cleaning, the minerals can etch the glass, causing permanent damage. After your window gets wet, use a squeegee to remove as much of the water from the glass as you can to prevent mineral deposits from forming.
Don't use harsh chemicals or ammonia-based cleaners. These products can damage the integrity of your glass. Likewise, you should avoid ammonia and alcohol-based cleaners as they can leave streaks and make your glass look dirty.
