Short-term exposure to fogging sprays is typically considered safe if guidelines are followed. It's best to avoid direct contact with the fog and stay indoors or avoid the treated area until the fog dissipates.
Unfortunately, despite marketing claims, these sprays don't just harm mosquitoes. The most widely used residential mosquito sprays are also highly toxic to native pollinators such as bees and butterflies, fish and other aquatic organisms, and they can even pose a risk to pets and people.
Spraying for mosquitos also kills lots of other flying insects. Many that are beneficial and keep other pests down. Less insects in your yard also makes it less desirable for insect eaters like birds, frogs, and lizards. Removing those will increase the number of mosquitos that inevitably end up there.
Windows and air-conditioner vents can be reopened about 30 minutes after spraying. If you come in direct contact with pesticide spray, protect your eyes.
It is the recommendation of the OPH to stay indoors during a mosquito spray event and remain indoors for 15-20 minutes after the truck sprays your immediate area.
Most people reason that rain washes the product away, requiring a re-spray, but actually the opposite is true. As long as your yard has had adequate time to dry and the product has had time to bond to the foliage (usually about 30 minutes) rain should not impact the effectiveness of your service.
Many birds will eat mosquitoes. The more important among these are purple martins, swallows, waterfowl (geese, terns, ducks) and migratory songbirds. Bird predators usually eat both the adult and aquatic stages of mosquitoes.

Barrier Spray vs Fogging: How Are They Different? Fogging will kill adult mosquitoes that fly through the fog. Mosquito barrier spray lingers on surfaces, killing mosquitoes for three weeks, with repeated visits throughout the season. Fogging is a short-term fix, designed to work for about 72 hours.
Pyrethroids: Pyrethroids are synthetic chemicals modeled after pyrethrins, which are naturally derived from chrysanthemum flowers. They are widely used in mosquito fogging due to their effectiveness in killing mosquitoes and their relatively low toxicity to humans and pets when used as directed.
It is not necessary to close doors or windows. The spray will dissipate from the treated area and degrade quickly in sunlight. However, residents may take additional measures to achieve personal comfort during the application.

As far as natural predators go I think it can be said without hesitation that the mosquitofish is by far the most efficient natural predator of mosquitoes.
Foods with sweet basil, sage, and rosemary
One study on mosquitoes and human scent found that mosquitoes were turned off by someone with high concentrations of the scent of eucalyptol on their skin. Eucalyptol is an aromatic compound found in sweet basil, sage, rosemary, and cardamom.
Remove standing water where mosquitoes lay eggs
Tightly cover water storage containers (buckets, cisterns, rain barrels) so mosquitoes cannot get inside to lay eggs. For containers without lids, use wire mesh with holes smaller than an adult mosquito. Fill tree holes to prevent them from filling with water.

ADD MOSQUITO REPELLENT PLANTS
These plants – including alliums, mums, marigolds, mint, basil and floss – can be placed around your patio, porch or gazebo. The aromas from these plants cause trouble for mosquitoes – some confuse them and others simply repulse them – which is enough to keep them away from you.
But do mosquitoes go away when it rains, or do they keep biting? Unfortunately, mosquitoes are able to keep flying when it's raining. This means they can also keep biting you even when it's wet out. The truth is, it's actually pretty amazing that these pests can fly in the rain.
Wash your clothes and bathe after using insect repellent and returning indoors. DON'T: Spray or apply repellent near your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, or on open cuts. Spray or apply repellent under clothing.
The most effective way to manage mosquitoes with alcohol is to spray them with it, causing them to dry out and die. While we don't recommend using large concentrations of alcohol indoors, carrying a spray bottle with alcohol in it to the patio or front porch wouldn't be a bad idea.
