Tile uses Bluetooth technology to connect with the Tile app on your device. It does not have GPS or real-time location monitoring. When a Tile is within Bluetooth range (100 feet up to 500 feet) and a connection is established, your device will update its location.
But one other difference to note is that Tile trackers have a better range than Apple AirTags (400 feet for the Tile Pro vs. around 30 feet for the AirTag). That's useful for when you're close by, but once your tracker is out of range, it's up to its network to locate it.
You may be eligible to receive a free Tile device when you upgrade to a Gold or Platinum Life360 membership.

Tile's work with the Tile app only. If someone else walks by your car with the Tile in it within 400 foot range, you will be notified of about where the tile is within a 400 foot circle. It's not designed to be a vehicle tracker, so don't trust it for that.
Tracking: How the Tile Network Works
Location data is updated automatically and anonymously, though Tile does not support real-time tracking because it records location data only intermittently.
